cEDH Winota Snowball stax is one of the most popular and powerful decks in the cEDH metagame, and this week I'm joined by one of its original brewers@ComedIanMTGto help you learn to pilot it. Ian goes over the general gameplan of the deck, how it looks to develop into a winning position, and the two main win conditions of the list. Then he goes over the fast and slow strategies Winota can enact, and how you're starting hand will push you towards one or the other. He touches on some mistakes new players often make, and ways to get more value out of your plays. Ian then gives some general mulligan advice and looks at a few sample hands to talk through how to mulligan with them. Lastly, he goes over the pods where Winota will thrive and struggle, how to navigate them, and a few closing thoughts for players considering her.

@@LemorasCards maybe cedh but in my playgroup i have basically a competitive winota deck and cos of all the boardwipes which frequently happen its not that fun to play with it.

Is by any chance this deck budget? Im new to magic and it caught my eye this deck so wanted to ask if I could build it around for 200-300$?

My first suggestion is to use proxies, just printing out a deck and giving it a try is a great way to get into the format. Beyond that, yes Winota is very budget friendly compared to most cEDH decks, but at that price range, you may struggle to compete at fully powered tables.

ngl, winota is one of the rare exceptions to that rule. her ability is so overwhelmingly powerful that even a budget/janky winota can still be a monster of a deck

true story. I have a budget 50€ winota deck and it's pretty stupid. blade historian + angrath's marauder as turn 3 winota's trigger are really something you don't want to face 😅
