Arsenio Hall is one of those comedians that don't get enough credit and respect for what he has done for the Black Community but would be interesting to see who have tried to emulate him but can't.

Madonna's beef with Arsenio began when she was going to perform on his show, but would lip-synch the performance. Arsenio told her that he had a rule that no performers would lip-synch on his show (great for acts like En Vogue, not so great for the likes of Mili Vanilli or Madonna) so she couldn't perform. That's what set her off. But they later made-up and Madonna did perform on a special all-entertainment Arsenio special. During the singing performance Madonna actually says "Everyone makes mistakes". I think that was her weird way of apologizing-while-trying-to-maintain-dignity.

After hearing what Madonna said about him, I am ashamed to say I WAS a fan. Roseanne knew she looked a mess, so why in the world would she think someone wouldn't say something about it lol, he was not the first or the last. Remember when Milli Vanilli TRIED to dis Arsenio? He told them they couldn't perform on his show because he had a rule about no lip-synching. This was a conversation that went on behind the scenes... Arsenio never even busted them (or Madonna) for lip-synching on camera. But an interviewer asked Mili Vanilli about their beef with Aresenio, and one of them was like, "I don't know what his problem is with us. Maybe its because his butt is so much larger than ours...". Arsenio responded on his show with, "I want to know why they're looking at my butt. I have an idea but I'll keep it to myself. The two guys from Mili Vanilli are from Europe, right? One is from Germany and the other is from France. That makes sense. I mean, Germany did invade France..."

Arsenio Hall show was so good that if it was still in the air these days only a few people would be watching Jimmy Kimmel or Jimmy Fallon show. The things he asked & topics he had on the show were very interesting for a host of night shows. Plus the musical guest were the bomb.

Not once but twice I saw DJ Daddy Rich do his thing on Arsenio with 3rd Base. Hardcore turntablist sets were scarce in the early 90's on national television and he provided lesser known rap acts with visibility back then. One of his shows had an up and coming rapper in the audience and he talked to him. The rapper's first single hadn't dropped yet. Arsenio let him freestyle and Fat Joe did a lilttle bit of "You Gotta Flow Joe" in the audience.

The way Arsenio and Rosanne made up was hilarious! The show began with the show's set coordinator searching for Arsenio because the show had already begun and he was a no-show. The camera follows the coordinator through the studio as he searches for Arsenio. Eventually he reaches a sort of hidden back room, and when he opened the door, he finds both Arsenio and Rosanne IN BED TOGETHER apparently in the act of doing the do! Boy, I miss those days! Good times...
