Paul Andersen covers the processes of aerobic and anaerobic cellular respiration. He starts with a brief description of the two processes. He then describes the important parts of the mitochondria. He explains how energy is transferred to ATP through the processes of glycolysis, the Kreb cycle and the Electron Transport Chain. He also explains how organisms use both lactic acid and alcoholic fermentation.

I think watching Crash Course, Khan Academy, and Bozeman Science videos in tandem is the best way to go about it, along with reading in your book. Getting the information explained in many different ways is super helpful. And honestly, come on, it's called "Crash Course," not "Gentle Easy Learning Course" lol. CC vids are meant to be watched over and over again, and before YT shit on annotations, it was easy to click parts you didn't get at the end of the vids.

Yes! I like that Mr. Anderson's have visuals and diagrams to follow. The crash course mostly feels like him talking to the camera so I have to try to visualize it all in my head really fast XD I'm thankful for these videos!

For those confused at the electron transport: NADH+FADH2 split and the electrons released move along the membrane. These electrons then allow Hydrogen protons to move from one side of the membrane to the other, creating a *Hydrogen* *imbalance*. It is this hydrogen imbalance which is used by the ATP synthase protein to make ATP with ADP+Pi. Also, excess electrons in the membrane combine with H+ and O2 to Create H2O.
@marylouspencer3980
@marylouspencer3980 6 жыл бұрын
Not Hydrogen imbalance but a proton gradient in the inner membrane space.(These are the positive ions he talks about) and YES it is what powers the ATP Synthase. the protons cannot leave the inner membrane only through the ATP Synthase.

This process is SO precise, complex, and intricate, that "undirected random natural processes" could not have made this process.

I definitely recommend this video to anybody who has struggled with this topic en route to whatever it is you need to pass. Bozeman definitely helped me get an understanding when I was struggling to study for a Biology exam.

I can't thank you enough, Mr. Anderson! Your video was so helpful! I really liked how you showed real life examples, like the runner, to explain cellular respiration further. It was also very helpful that you explained everything in depth, but in simple terms. Thank you, again! Much appreciated! :)
