The Celtics are probably the only team in the NBA to get criticized by not winning by a larger margin of victory. It ain’t enough to grind out a tough road playoff victory within single digits during clutch time, but now it’s gotta be by 20+ points or it’s a problem. Absolutely insane.

I honestly felt the opposite. Them winning a close game, score wise, was a good sign to me. There was going to come a point where the constant blowouts (Win OR lose), stopped, and this was that game. So that actually impressed me a good bit that they won in this situation.

Look over the last four years: the Celtics have beaten the Bucks with Giannis and Dru (then the excuse was No Middleton), the 76'ers with Embiid and Harden (but he was on one leg) and the Heat (with Butler, but it was because he missed a 3 pointer). Truth is, the Celtics have beaten them and now the narrative is, "if the Celtics win is because the East was weak and everybody was hurt". And if they beat any team of the West, "they will say luck or after so many years of knocking on the door"...When you win you win...

It doesn’t matter what the Celtics do the fans and the media will always hate. If they win a championship this year they will say “They had a Superteam” but it’s funny because before the Celtics traded for Jrue and Porzinings I remember everybody was saying they we’re overrated and Porzingis was injury prone. Now all of a sudden “The East is weak” but nobody was saying that when Bron was going to 9 straight finals or when teams like Miami, the Bucks and other Eastern conference teams made the finals

It's weird to me how people don't acknowledge the butterfly effect of playing different players has. They assume, if Mitchel and Allen played, it would be the same 5 pt game down the stretch. They could have been up 20 or down 20 cause literally every single aspect of the game would have been different. What's also weird, is why does it not matter that the Celtics starting center is injured to any narrative? The same player they spent the entire year trying to keep healthy for the playoffs... So i would say he is pretty important for them.

They don't have Kristaps. Mitchell played in Game 3 and they lost and scored 93 points. They didn't benefit from injury because Donovan played in one of these two games in Cleveland and they got smoked anyway.
