It's common these days for seemingly innocuous games to conceal a dark secret. Here, that facade only extends to the title download page - and yet, I still feel it's holding something back. What is it hiding behind its numerous locked doors?

You were correct about why the cessation of sound is so unnerving on a primal level to humans. It's also why, when you're trying to sleep, a constant noise is much more comforting that an intermittent sound. A sound cutting in and out sets us on edge because our brains take it as a warning.
@DiggerDeeper01

I always called dead silences after freaky sounds a "reverse jumpscare". Instead of being a release of fear, it just builds it up the longer the silence drags on. A lot of Analogue horror works with it.

I can pretty much say for sure that there's nothing more for you to explore in this game. The UE blueprints state there are 5 level-transitions: farm2hands_BP (from Farm to Hands) farm2home_BP (from Farm to Home (hub-area)) farm2island_BP (from Farm to the Island) home2apartment_BP (From hub-area to apartments) home2farm_BP (from hub-area to Farm)
@Goose--pw8vw
@Goose--pw8vw 2 жыл бұрын
Aww, that sucks to hear since this seems like a pretty cool concept that could have a nonlinear story to it. Though a random thought, maybe the file is set so you're only able to see those five level transitions and there's actually more to see if you look further? But nah, seems unlikely and would require a lot of programming/coding skills I assume?

I adore this kind of experience. As if your exploring a world that's absolutely and totally foreign to you. The emotions that this game in particular evoke in me are incredibly enjoyable. Similar to the liminal space maps or dream logic maps you've played. Listening to your train of consciousness going through them is quite pleasant. These are the kinds of things I come to you to watch. So as far as it's possible, please continue to showcase similar games/maps/whatever, because I can't express enough how great it is to experience these alongside. 🙂

Hey Librarian! Been watching for a while now. Before I go on just wanted to let you know that the GMOD VR Series are dominating it! Love it, keep it up (please, haha). Anyways, theres this GMOD VR Series called Sleeping in VR. Basically you go into scary maps in GMOD and actually sleep in them IRL, but you keep the headset on so your actually sleeping in GMOD. You find a place to make a 'home', explore the map and later when it starts to actually get late IRL you go to sleep in the map at your 'home'. It would be really fun to see you do, it really seems like it's something for you if your looking for a real scare. Now i know the odds are slim you'll see this, might aswell try (; If you were to find this interesting then I recommend doing it on maps like rp_downtown (OVERNIGHT DOWN IN THE DARKER PARTS OF THE MAP, SHIT HAPPENEDS LOL), or even a map like Exploring Gone Wrong (which you did a video on), or liminal space! What you like. SCP Maps aren't recommended if you shit your pants easily lol. If you were to not find it interesting then i would love to see you just play gm_basement or gm_something_else. Cya!

Who could've thought that cement mixing involves so much heavy drugs? As I see this game, and most likely what dev's idea was is travel through frozen surrealistic painting. Like imagine if Dali's paintings were 3d landscapes. Hence everything is frozen. Just smaller stories here and there in form of sculptures, small piece of strange art.

A constructive critique, if I could! I notice in a lot of videos (including this one) where things are very weird or abstract, you state that you are struggling to commentate over the video when you lack something concrete to comment upon what you're experiencing. You also seem to be annoyed or irritated by this fact, or at least apologetic that you are not able to commentate at that moment. I just wanted to say, it's okay! You don't |always| have to commentate. I can tell you enjoy breaking down experiences in a game and theorizing why something is a certain way... But if a game briefly leaves you lost for words, just vibe with it. No need to get frustrated or irritated about it. Heck, if it's odd enough to leave you at a loss, then you can probably bet it's captivating a lot of your audience watching in the same way. And sometimes a bit of silence now and then can go a long way to augmenting a commentary, too. I just wanted to express this, because sometimes you seem very stressy when things are not flowing the way you expect and...well, I sometimes am the same way with my own content. I've been learning that it's best to relax and just roll with things sometimes. The best laid plans may turn into something even better if you're willing to let go of them from time to time. And it's usually a more enjoyable experience for an audience if the content creator is not stressing too hard, as well.

I say this about every obscure game that I see but like This definitely remind sme of mental health issues, especially with the hotel place, the second major area librarian comes across It gives me vibes about derealization, schizophrenia, and depression There's definitely more to the game, but from what I theorize; The first area, I dont know, I couldn't think of much past existential dread But the second area definitely gives me vibes of paranoia (being watched, from the horned people in the windows, and the deer-like people) derealization (everybody watches you, but they dont /actually/ see you, nobody moves, everything is static, as if you are the only REAL person), monotony of life (How everything is the same, and repeats throughout each place, same "characters", same items). And overall seems to be the mind of someone who is definitely not normal, something I can relate to, plus, can any "normal" person think of these things. From what I've gathered, even if I haven't finished the video yet: Somebody who finds refuge in something small, like their job, or an item, and uses said item as a coping mechanism (cement mixer, fire extinguisher, computer), and everybody who originally appeared as green leaf people, who while oddly creepy, dont seem to pose a threat, devolve into strange frail flesh things. They feel watched often, and appear to have a heavy disliking for overruling people, like police and government. The paranoia and distrust leads me to believe schizophrenia, especially with the odd amount of imagery, which also suggests derealization. Kinda feels like a game made to vent Its hard to explain and like.. That's obvious, none of this makes sense, and while I do relate to it, fuck if I know what exactly I relate to, I just resonate with whatever this is, and I might just be projecting my mental health issues and misinterpriting everything, could even just be a game intended to confuse people

Now it says it's from 2003 but when is the actual game made? 10:15 that area is unsettlingly comforting Also what makes the red thing scarier is that this game is meant to be frozen in time is it not? So that thing reacting and make noises is just off Also I think your one of the green things and the statuette in the spawn room is a hint to that

You're my favourite KZfaqr now, your video have very few editings, short intro and no background music. Some other KZfaqr edited the video way too much and made the game not horror anymore.

That last area reminds me of a game called 0_abyssalSomewhere, in how everything looks decayed and frozen in time. I wish more games did that because it's very effective at getting me intrigued in what happened to cause it.

Because, there isnt more to the game. to quote someone: "I can pretty much say for sure that there's nothing more for you to explore in this game. The UE blueprints state there are 5 level-transitions: farm2hands_BP (from Farm to Hands) farm2home_BP (from Farm to Home (hub-area)) farm2island_BP (from Farm to the Island) home2apartment_BP (From hub-area to apartments) home2farm_BP (from hub-area to Farm)" --"TropicalBananaMan

my brother was watching this video on the tv when i was sleeping on the couch, and some of the video leaked into my dream so before i watch fully, i'm gonna state my dream and see how similar it was 1. it started as a horror video game with very pixelated features and jagged movements 2. the player was walking down a pathway through a purple cornfield towards an open, yet empty, barn - the player commented on how they found it dumb they couldn't jump over the tilled dirt mounds that the corn grew from, despite the mounds being very short 3. as the player progressed through the game, enemies started appearing; they were cultists, and only one actually would follow you around - any time the player did something the cultists didn't like, the youngest would appear behind them and just stare at them while following them around - the cultist was a flat 2d pixelated person with short straight hair and a long, divine-like robe, and at one point (despite the usual jagged animation,) their face smoothly contorted to an exaggerated, outraged expression as the player continued 4. the main goal was to head to a building on top of a mountain, as that's where a murder among the cult took place, and the player was investigating 5. after multiple failed/different endings, the player finds a way to throw themselves to the top of the (rather short) mountain, breaking through the symbol-covered door, only for the game to restart with a new intro 6. the intro would introduce the enemies, each cultist's face flashing across the screen with their names, all were elderly save for the main cultist who followed you around - however, a new person was introduced, and a black screen popped up with eyes and the name 'the crimson cultist' 7. the enemies were milking a massive, udder-shaped creature that was gray and grossly wrinkly, and every liquid came out as a vividly colored liquid - no clue what they did with it 8. it was implied that the young cultist murdered the crimson cultist, just judging by how they were the only one actively preventing you from going up to the mountain aaaand that's all that happened before i woke up- curious to see how much came from this video playing while i was sleeping
