@@daveh7720 Or Archie Goodwin from Nero Wolfe. Shatner actually played the character (as a total wolf, I might add - makes Kirk look kind of shy) in an unaired pilot just before getting the TOS role. If that Nero Wolfe show had gone into production we might have had someone else captaining the Enterprise.

Honestly when he leaves the holosuite and they ask if he's okay and he says no but I will be, makes me cry everytime. When in struggling with my own PTSD, I watch that episode and it always helps.

@@alexdotzko they did a Good job with that episode. Sometimes a persons mental anguish, process, or coping mechanisms won't make sense. No one may truly know what your going through, there are those who can get close with they're own but its a journey a journey of one. If I have that right.

Heh, one of my captains decided to keep that receptionist, and offered her a job as an assistant on the diplomatic team. I.e. I bought a compatible Orion female Boff, changed her appearance to match the NPC and had her dress in something less Ferengi-looking. I now bring her as a backup tactical officer on diplomatic missions. Edit: why a tactical officer? Because nobody expects the cute Orion gofer to pull out a polaron pistol from... somewhere on her person, or to deliver a flying roundhouse kick to the bad guys. She already has the skills, she used to work in customer relations on Drozana station after all.

In my head cannon she installs herself as the Captain's new Secretary despite all protests otherwise, and becomes a running comedic gag throughout seasons 6 and 7. Like a 70's sitcom. Some tropes deserve to be respected.

funny thing about time manipulation. Every action has a reaction that you never plan for. Trying to alter time never goes as you plan it to go. "Year of Hell" showed that quite obviously if memory serves, every shift he tried caused something else to be a problem for the Imperium

@@ronaldfinkelstein6335 Couldn't tell you who voiced the trader, but Spiner hasn't done any VO work for STO. In fact, the only principal TNG cast that have voiced in STO are Denise Crosby, LaVar Burton, and Michael Dorn. And yes, that is the late Aaron Eisenberg reprising Nog. A lot of DS9 principal and recurring cast have done VO work for STO over the last five or so years.

Eh it's the way the game works. I don't remember if he covered it in his early Romulan stuff, but after the Khitomer mission, your captain chooses to ally with either Starfleet or the KDF, basically putting you on lone to whichever faction you choose, and has the in game effect of allowing you access to that faction's hubs and Fleet system. You also get some snazzy uniform options. Basically it was their way of simplifying adding extra factions to the game.

I just wanted to let you know how much I'm truly enjoying your series. I've been going back and catching all the episodes from the beginning and I love how you are weaving a consistent narrative. You have made Admiral Hale--a man brought out of his own time along with his crew--into a vibrant--and quirky--three dimensional figure. You've also reawakened my enthusiasm for the game. I've been a lifetime member since the game debuted a decade ago, but usually I play in spurts and cannot easily commit to definite playtimes so I don't join fleets and am wary of PUG groups--in other words, I keep a low profile when I play. Thanks again for your hard work--every episode you air shows your love for the game. Looking forward to more--maybe one day you'll continue your Romulan playthrough?

I would really love a timeline update for STO. The events are occasionally out of order, though you did make it clear they were out of order, but I don't know when those events happen exactly, or the other events that are in order, and I have no idea on what timescale these things happen on canonically, anyway. Like what do we know as far as the length of time between each mission? You can do them back to back, but that's not realistic to be how it "actually" happened. I know a video like that would be a lot of work but it would certainly help some of us figure this out.

The timeline is pretty unrealistic, esp. for the Delta recruits - you go from Ensign to SuperDuperAdmiral in a calendar year. The game originally starts in 2409, and it's now 2411 in the Year of the Klingon. sto.gamepedia.com/Chronology

Hey Rick I really love these episodes really do keep making them please cuz I'm going through some things right now and it's actually helps take my mind off of them I'm hoping Thursday me and my uncle can finally get us a place again after 6 months we've been staying with us so called friends at her place but she's making one of his sleep outside in it water heater room in the other inside when there's plenty of room for us to be both inside but keep getting a you know what but hopefully God willing come Thursday we'll have enough money to get us a place again cuz I found one today for $560 all bills paid a month so I wish it's a lucky and pray for us cuz his brother and uncle passed away on August 30th to the malpractice we think we're still waiting to hear it's just been a tough year But like I said Rick videos help me get through my day you have a very good evening and keep up the good work Live long and prosper

I have 20 toons, have played this mission many times, I have just redone the mission on a new toon and boom the revealed moon is no longer rendered correctly just as in this video , once upon a time the moon had textures and features, what is going on in ST that so much content is no longer rendering as it did in the past, Temporal mechanics maybe.

So I got in to STO thanks to your videos and have a question to really anyone who knows the game. I Recently completed 'Desperate Measures' and found that no Romulans on the station where voiced but there where like 3 or 4 in your video with moving mouths, and everything. Is it a bug? Did I screw up my sound settings? Did a update remove/break something? Appreciate any suggestions that come to anyone's mind.

He already did a Cultural Index about the Breen. It was mostly speculation and beta canon, since there's so little information about them from the shows.

Rick, or at least that is what I think your name is: great work ! I truly believe this is your best work since starting the series. Anyway I so wish those FKRS from CBS had a brain and real sci fy tast between the lot. The crap they are releasing is criminal! Wish they would pick this idea up and run with .

That time cloak reminds me of the phase cloak effect that appeared in a few TNG episodes. But with added temporal paradox potential if the underlying tech is misused.

The ship has a special "weapons mode" that allows a particularly large phaser array to be projected from the upper and lower parts of the saucer. The Pylons also move to change the positions of the nacelles for warp flight. For players of the game the weapons mode change is enabled by a module you get from the tier 6 version of the ship (Manticore Heavy Destroyer), which is given to lifetime subscribers and those who have subscribed to the game for 1000+ days.

@@kfcroc18 it's called the Phaser Lotus. Think The Last Starfighter's Death Blossom but with lots of high powered phaser beams. The KDF and Republic have their own versions of the ship, using Disruptor and Plasma damage respectively.

Yes, because the Iconians are only one race in the large galaxy. You'll see more in later episodes.
