I’m a sociologist (and mom) and study doctor-patient interaction and the healthcare system, and you have highlighted so many valid and incredibly weak points of the system. I’m so happy to hear that your pre-surgery appt went well and was reassuring and you got your questions answered. There is a new call from the NSF to study women’s health and hopefully researchers will improve women’s experience. We should not have to fight to get heard - especially when sick! I am praying and hoping for the very best for you. I’m so glad I stumbled across your channel when I did. I love the content that you put out. You probably already know this- but you are a gem and a light. I’ve listened to almost all of the podcast episodes you’ve put out over the years, have enjoyed each and every single one of them, and share them with my mom group chats. I love the idea of being a very good enough parent and I love that you offer content that shows that you don’t have to be perfect to be a good parent. Sending lots of love and positive vibes your way. I hope you have a smooth surgery and a quick and speedy recovery!

Someone else mentioned being a quiet follower and I am also a chronic quiet follower but I just had to reach out to give you some encouragement! Tomorrow will be exactly 3 weeks post op from my robotic laparoscopic total hysterectomy, cystoscopy, exploratory laparotomy, and stage 2 prolapse repair. The main reason for my surgery was adenomyosis but they also found chronic inflammation and many cysts around my cervix which I had no idea about. The first 2-3 days were the hardest and I am feeling SO much better now! Stay hydrated, eat lots of kiwis and raspberries (so you don't get constipated) and follow all the guidelines on your physical limitation. I know it's hard with little ones in the house (I have 2) but it's very important to let your body rest. Don't be afraid to ask for all the help you need. Also, make sure you've got plenty of loose maxi dresses around. They will be your best friend! LOL. They're so much more comfortable than pants the first few weeks post surgery! I'm praying for a smooth recovery and that there will be no signs of cancer elsewhere!
