Not my most favoured state for a firearm to be in - but necessary in Canada due to the legal framework.
In this short clip I go over the ACTS and PROVE acronyms, which provide the framework for successfully passing the practical exam on the Canadian Firearms Safety Course.
This can be a useful guide to pre-study before coming to class, or as a refresher should you find yourself needing to demonstrate it to someone who needs to know it.

I did my CFSC over 20 years ago and I remember the instructor teaching us to just look down the bore. I never felt comfortable with that, using a light is a much better technique.

Wtih my PAL/RPAL courses coming up in April of this year, it's nice to have visual content with an actual instructor to coordinate with the textual learning from the handbook. Thanks for the video; it's short but effective, and right to the point!

My instructor has me examine the bore by literally looking down the barrel… I feel like this is extremely dumb and irresponsible

No it's actually not dumb. If you are confident in your acts and prove then the firearm should be Prove Safe. If your not confident in looking down the barrel then do all the acts and prove steps again until you are.
