"Kenobi: Trials Of The Master" is a feature-length fan retelling of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. It uses the footage from the Series with other films in the franchise, and utilizes VFX, editing and new footage to create a completely new take on the story. It is intended to entertain and inspire the fan base, as well as to educate the upcoming artists on the possibilities of modern filmmaking.
This is not intended to interfere, or belittle, or replace the original series in any way. That's not even possible, and that was never my intention. And if it was even possible, I would never want it. This is my personal take on the story, and my ultimate love letter to the Star Wars universe.
This whole educational project wouldn't be possible without the artists and the entire creative team that made the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, so go and watch it on Disney+.
-For the long time I was thinking about those TIE Fighters that were just hanging up there at the Fortress, while the Path fighters did their blasting run and then calmly flew away.
One of the main goals of my edit is to make the Empire actually look and act competently, and make the formidable enemy out of them.
The original idea was just to make the TIE Fighters fly into pursuit while Reva is watching (like the bottom picture), but now thanks to that gorgeous Andor shot, I can create one more shot before that just to make the entire scene more film-worthy.
The Empire is still aware that the ship is being tracked, but they put on a little show just to make their escape more believable to them.
Of course for all of that I need a good CG model of the TIE Fighter that can hold up to scrutiny in 4K. It was a challenge to make the surface texture just reflective enough to mimic the look of the models from ANH, and yet not too reflective to make them look wet/CG.
I think I'm there, while the motion blur, clouds and real HDRI reflections will do the rest.
DISCLAIMER:
This is a non-profit, transformative fan project. It was made as an experiment in VFX and editing, and will feature multiple breakdowns and tutorials with the goal of promoting creative thinking and filmmaking technology. I respect the original creators of the series and the series overall. Without it, this edit and, all the other fan-art wouldn't be possible.
This is not intended to fix, or belittle, or replace the original series in any way, but is supposed to be viewed as an alternative approach to the same story. Neither this project nor I are affiliated with Disney/Lucasfilm in any way!

Because this project is based on the protected IP and I'm doing it purely for fun in my free time, I am NOT taking any donations for it, neither am I receiving any benefits.
