Wow I need to now this , my narcissist husband he use to do gaslighting but I break through over this
Its refreshing to see such important topic being discussed.. One more example on gas lighting ...When I found out and confronted my x husband ,father of my two kids about his cheating right under my eyes.. He said you never expressed your love to me and went on and on... ...(smh).. መንግስት ብሆን እኔ ነፃ ቴራፒ ለሁሉም ቤተሰብ ። ከላይ እየተቀባበሉት የመጣው አስተዳደጋችን እኮ እሚገርም ነው! Full of trauma and drama .. Gas lighting ..it all starts allvthe back from childhood luck of love , sense of security from family and physical touch that helps with safety and confidence in adult life.

Excellent topic. Gaslighting is such an invasive issue but not recognized as such by many. It can be in any kind of relationship. This has happened to me in the work setting. I think it is also a sense of insecurity.
Well, the topic is really a good topic and very teachable. However, in nowadays, that issue is going on in most relationships regardless the person relationship status! Personally, when it comes to Habesha community or cultural, I believe most of us we growing up in a very judgmental and less confidence environment. Especially when it comes to womanhood’s we do things b/c what the older people want to see on us not by our choices. The same thing when it comes to men side too. They grown up in the same environment even though they know they can do what they want, I mean the manhood power. Especially in nowadays, most women do love or want to become a very strong and independent woman. Not to depend on her man or her family. It doesn’t mean, she does not love or respect her man. She just wants to step up for herself or to experience things on her way without asking anyone. Such as gaining her financially, work hard to help her family and like meet new people. It can be through her work or through her social life’s. But some habesha men do not like her independently and growing her connection outside of her comfort zone! They think a lot of things or it puts them in suspicious mentality that could lead them into some negative thoughts. Instead of having open minded conversation with her to understand her feelings or her vision they jumped to the conclusions. Which is like breaking her down to unnecessary mood to get the attention they want or demoralizing her to the point of giving up on herself. I am not saying all our habesha men’s are like that. Of course, The man who does that it tells you that he is attracted to the weak woman’s, I mean a woman who can lean onto him to gain his manhood (masculinity) mentality or power. However when it comes to Western culture, most parent do raise their children or most men do want a woman who is very strong and independent woman who can walk confident on his side to side not onto someone who would depending on him or her parents. So I believe in most habesha relationships that is why things are going wrong and ending up into divorce or useless cheating. Which is “Expectation” !! So To have a healthy relationship or to change the mindset, both sides should have gain the reasonable and acceptable mentality to work/walk together further. Even issues are happening among them still try to solve or fixes it. No need or don’t bring a third person into your love life! It was not worth. Instead go to the relationship counselor or therapy to get help and save your relationship before it is too late. I guess.
