Chad's playing is a pleasure to the ears. Space, melody, ideas, and rhythmic complexity without getting in the way or overplaying.

Chad's Father Mr. Wackerman was my music teacher in Seal Beach Calif. 1963-64 he was a wonderful teacher.

His dynamics are incredible. Doesn't just hit as hard as he can; he's very musical about what he does and how he plays. For this reason, he and Gavin Harrison are my two favorite drummers. Technicality, musical ability, dynamism, and just class-acts overall.

Stev0BabaGhanoush Chad is amazing but Brooks is just as amazing.. both of them have an INSANE groove going and their dynamics are mesmerizing

Lol.... Do you think he's more technical than Jimmy chamberlain?

There are good reasons why Zappa hired him.

God I love Chad's execution. It's so technical, if he wants to, and so freaking relaxed. Just go back to his first live shows with Zappa. The same focused and relaxed playing. My favourite of him is how he follows the music he's playing with. He takes a step back when needed and fills in when it's appropriate. His solo albums and the albums with Ed Mann clearly shows this. Oh, don't forget 'Charming snakes' by Andy Summers.

i like drummers with an ear for melody and harmonics as well besides their rythmical versatility. fz knew why he took him in his band.

Anybody else think Wackerman looks like Bobby Orr?

It’s funny to me, to see strong, harsh criticism about this great drummer, from sad people who sit on a computer keyboard in their mother’s basement somewhere in Nebraska at the age of 50. These are probably people who play like shit, but freely took the time to criticize others instead of practicing like they should be.
@adityatyagi40092 жыл бұрын
Exactly right! That's why ask these armchair critics to upload a video of their own playing to show us mere mortals how it should be done. That's when they run away like cowards. :D

@@adityatyagi4009 Yeah I’m sure those videos never show up ha ha Ha!!

Eh. He's definitely good. But just didn't tweak that nerve some drummers do.
