Asmodeus is among the most powerful entities in the multiverse. If a few level 20s can kick down the gates of his superfortress to give him a beating, that would be so anticlimactic.

I would tend to agree. And as far as I know, the ninth circle is Asmodeus's home plane, and if you kill him here, he's really dead. The same goes for the other Dukes. That could certainly be the spark for your next campaign and an opportunity for some neat world building after some or all of the powers of the Nine Hells all die in short order. That's why I would favor the Oasis route, finding a loop hole to break the contracts. Funnily enough, while the adventure did give a stat block to Asmodeus, it does not have him initiate any direct conflict. That is one bit I did not mention being confused on. If the party fights their way into the fortress and past his minions, Asmodeus gives them an audience, attempts negotiation, and can just simply teleport them back to their barge. If things go south for him in battle, wouldn't he just do that then? No, I think a DM would have to honor the player's choices and combat aptitude and let them kill Asmodeus. In either case, many may find the outcome anti-climactic. Then again many others probably feel lvl 20 characters should be felling gods!

The stat block we find is for the avatar of Asmodeus as his true form is *genuinely* too unwieldy to actually run hell in. It’s (said to be) an unfathomably massive snake hundreds upon hundreds of miles long covered in eon old wounds dripping with foul black ichor. This is the form we don’t have a stat block for. Honestly Asmodeus is so linked to the existence of the nine hells his true form is probably something we can’t really fight.

@@D--FENS yeah. And it’s not like theoretically it’s too powerful to be fought by anyone. More of a logistical issue. Literally no one has seen his true form, literally no one. Odds are it has some metaphysical nature to it that makes it really fucking difficult to interact with. Even if he wanted to it’s probably not something Asmodeus himself can just bust out on a moment’s notice.

@@Wiz_and_Pippy That's fair enough, though I think there is a way to allow for a middle ground that allows for player agency without breaking the cosmos. If I were to DM such an encounter... Planescape will always hold a special place in my heart, and it established Asmodeus as an avatar of Ahriman, a titanic, reality shaping entity beyond gods that lies broken and bloodied, yet far from defeated, at the bottom of the Serpent's Coil. I wouldn't necessarily have Asmodeus simply reform, but the true master of Hell will have, once again, manipulated events in such a way as to benefit himself, even if no one realizes this until later. To quote AJ Pickett, "In an infinite multiverse, there is always a bigger fish."

great video for a great adventure ! For the ring, i think I'll make them finds rumors about curses of this specific ring or that it was worn by mephistopheles or something like that.

Oh yeah, that's good! There's a goodly amount of infernal artifacts for the party to get their hands on with plenty of room to write in your own history!

Thanks for the review! I might posit that there are not a whole lot of dungeon maps for a “dungeon crawly” adventure. Many of the battle maps will have to be recycled from other spaces.

You're right! The maps are a weak point of the adventure and one will have to get battle maps from other sources.

No mention of PF and the developer, Arcanum Worlds, hasn't done PF in the past so it doesn't seem promising.

Nothing special about 4 corruption points. The more temptations, the more corruptions points needed to be corrupted. So only a couple of temptations, 4 corruption points is enough, and handful of temptations, 4 isn’t enough.
