Yeah, I’m happy with it. Not a whole lot louder which I was hoping it wouldn’t be obnoxiously loud. This one is m-tronic so it is supposed to self adjust.

Just drill 3 3/16 holes in the front, take a few baffels out of the intake, retune and poof. The only thing you will miss out on is the sticker from west coast saws. 💪😁

I debated that or cutting slats with a grinder, I thought this was a cleaner look so I went this route. Definitely cheaper ways to get the same results but I liked the cleaner look.

Great video !! I’m still on the fence for this mod for my MS 261c. Would be nice if it could be done like I have done for my MS 362C and the MS 500i. Both of those were simple and worked out real well. Appreciate your efforts making this video 👍👏🇺🇸 Rick

It was definitely worth the time, it didn’t take long really and was relatively easy to do. Did you do a muffler mod or aftermarket muffler plate on your 362/500i?

@@foggyvalleyacres Morning, Yes, I did the west coast bark boxes on both the MS 362c and the MS 500i. I bought the MS 261c back in September but haven’t done anything to it yet.

Nice clean job man! Just ordered the same port for my MS261C. Any notice in power increase? Hoping it gives it a nice deep sound but not too loud.
@foggyvalleyacres
@foggyvalleyacres Жыл бұрын
Check out my latest video, you can hear it actually cutting in wood. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sNihZLKYzpydmqc.html Might be slightly more power but it revs out a lot faster and stays reved out a lot more in the cut which definitely cuts a bit faster. Power wise it’s honestly hard to tell a difference. You’ll be pleased with the sound, it’s deeper and slightly louder but not obnoxious which I was honestly afraid of it being too loud also but it wasn’t.

I’m not sure of the part number, I got it on eBay. I’ll look to see if I still have the box for the part number. If I were to do it again I would get a sugihara bar, definitely better quality after having one on my 462.

Are the caps over the bolts necessary? Can I just leave them out?
@foggyvalleyacres
@foggyvalleyacres 10 ай бұрын
They aren’t necessary, they are just dirt/dust covers. I keep them on to keep debris out that might get packed in the bolt heads.

Would removing the front two plugs not allow for free-er flowing exhaust without voiding the warranty?
@foggyvalleyacres
@foggyvalleyacres Жыл бұрын
Those are just plugs to keep dirt out of the screws that keep the muffler screwed to the cylinder. That would have been nice if that were the case though for sure!

Could you just use normal pop rivets?
@foggyvalleyacres

If you had one big enough, I had a bend in it for it to fit better and I think the bolt would hold it a little tighter.

@foggyvalleyacres
@foggyvalleyacres Жыл бұрын
The saw revs out faster and is able to keep revs up when cutting. Yes warranty is voided but I wasn’t too concerned. Normally warranty work takes forever and unless it was major damage it is easier to fix it than take in to a shop and wait a month for them to fix.

this only increases the outflow, you didn't really do anything to the inside to create hp gains....?
@foggyvalleyacres

No real go gain, maybe very marginal but it breaths much better. Breathing better results in much faster revs and holds rpm much easier when cutting.

REMEMBER! Whatever ya change at the EXHAUST will have to be reconciled at the INTAKE! Small engines do not have the BACKPRESSURE like LARGE 4 CYCLE engines and therefore a drastic EXHAUST change can & will fry the motor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
