Thank You Robert, I had no idea on hide tanning. It is so much labor and hard work scraping the hide. I know I would have too large a fire and burn it up rather than smoke the hide. You are a true artist of the craft of your ancestors your Mother in law is a very wise woman. Thanks for the insite into you life Peace and joy to you.

Mom in law is right, sit back and enjoy, that is a thing of beauty. I am impressed with the amount of work that takes. Is it safe to assume that there will be a moccasin making video? Great job Rob and thank you for showing the rest of us how to.

Robert you did a fabulous job ! your presentation was awesome the thing that impressed me the most was the shire will power exhibited by you to accomplish the enormous task of tanning a moose hide in a traditional manner a feat worthy of your super power thank you for sharing this with the world it will make people appreciate the amount of work that goes into a pair of moccasins and help to understand there true value well done !

You did do awesome, I'm currently tanning deer hides, 6 of them. It's hard work but a moose hide looks like it would be 10 times harder than a deer hide! Just due to sheer size

Beautiful work Robert! And you are right sewing is pretty boring but has to be done. Punk spruce I think is my favorite as well.

Hi Robert . After the cardboardy stage was finished the hide was dry,....so do you wet and wring it again before the finishing touch stage?

Robert please dont think I'm disrespecting you , but the hide is full of knifing/ skinning holes .Doesn't this significantly reduce the use you can use the tanned leather for .... especially the fact you spend so much time and energy into producing such a quality product. Cheers from a very small country off the coast of australia . New Zealand ....
