I'm 74 yeas old and I took my son and two of my grandsons to see Babymetal in 2016 in Silver Springs Maryland. They were blown away. Seeing them live in a small venue was one of the most amazing things I have ever experienced. And my son, who was a doubter, had only three words at the end of the concert. They were, " That was awesome!!"

Karate is my absolute favorite song of theirs, along with the video. It's an amazing blend of the old school martial art movies with a touch of anime in it. I can listen to that song over and over and not get tired of it. Which is pretty rare for me.

Babymetal is already one of the greatest metal bands of the past TEN YEARS. Their choreography is astonishing. Su-metal's voice just keeps getting better she is only 20 years old now.

Just watched their vids 3 weeks ago after ignoring them for years and the next thing I know is checking on with my friend who has a connection with events to get me a ticket on their next show. My 6 year old daughter loves this song! As a metalhead, she doesn't generally enjoy "dads music" as she calls it. She prefers "Mom's music," which usually consists of pop music. So, this is kind of a bridge that me and my oldest daughter can agree with for a mutual band we like, and maybe open her to more metal haha. Time will tell. But she loves Baby Metal!

Japanese rock will blow you away. Band Maid is so talented and prolific when it comes to producing music. LoveBites with the twin guitar solos. Aldious, Doll$boxx. Just amazing. Scandal also has to be mentioned for their longevity ( 13 years ) and the variety of their music. More pop than rock for them most of the time but they will surprise you with songs like burn, masterpiece. The fact that they just established their own private label tells you about their level of success.

Ya know, I was just thinkin, most bands in the West..the US an UK type bands all produce an album with between 10 to 15 tracks on them and maybe 2 or 3 songs became popular but only a True fan actually hears the album in its entirety. Most, though couldn't tell you much about those filler song. Babymetal songs, on the other hand, come with group interviews, matching choreography and Lore unmatched but by the very few truly historic groups that have ever been. Hell, there are not but 2 or 3 groups in that catagory playing anywhere on the planet today and Babymetal is surely one.

You should definitely watch their live performances

The wierd thing is, they are all as sweet and cute (kawaii) as they appear. And yet, badass performances with some badass metal music. Their music is quite varied (in a good way). I would recommend Road of Resistance Live in Japan (official) next. Su had just turned 17 and Yui and Moa were 15. It is a truly epic live performance. Then branch out from there. In general, go for the live but the official MV is often great for fuller understanding the message if the song. Some of their newest music is also awesome, but for all but PA PA YA! good source videos for reacting to are hard to find and are usually blocked. This despite my love of their new song Shanti/Ind-metal.

you need to know 2 things right now. 1. They're waaaaaay better live. All their songs have choreography and call/response elements with the audience and there is really no concert like a BABYMETAL concert. The amount of stage presence they manage to exude is like nothing will have ever seen. Go with 'Road of Resistance Live in Tokyo' next. 2. They're touring the US in the fall and you're gonna want to get to a show.

Baby Metal is AWESOME. Gimme Chacolate is the first of theirs I saw and still my No.1 from them. Sadly, they just recently lost one of their singers and their main guitarist passed. Band is now trying recreating themselves. A REALLY LEGIT Japanese band is Band Maid. Cute Japanese girls dressed as french maids playing hard rock. And these girls CAN play no joke. Thrill is their most popular song, but check out the bassist in Play(live). Loved your react btw. Kinda like mine. lol

When I first saw this video I was already a fan of BABYMETAL, so I already knew they were awesome, but my reaction was still very much like yours. It was very emotional for me because the vid is damn near perfect. The Girls are incredible, but so are the visuals, the sound is perfect, the song writing is genius and the story line is strong. All the details have been given great care so as to elevate the entire concept. Frankly it brought a tear to my eye that is was just so good. It still gets to me to this very day. I think it is by far their best MV that they have done and they have some good ones. Like The One knows, they are best live. Always nice to see the WTF moment when people first see and hear Babymetal. This is 3 years old so I'd recommend watching the Glastonbury 2019 concert footage on KZfaq. I'm 58, saw Sabbath in 76, Zappa in 78, Led Zepelin in 79...and just got my tickets to see Babymetal in Feb 2020! Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Babymetal!

I believe this is one of the few reaction to BABYMETAL that is so positive from day 1. Some of use took 2-3 songs at least, because their songs are so much in variety. So yeah, their live performances are the pinnacles. Their MV are just bonuses. Congratulations on achieving 1% to get to know BABYMETAL.

Hi BJ! Great reaction! You are going to be visited by the BABYMETAL army now and we will guide you through your adventure down the fox hole! I had known about BABYMETAL for about a year but I wrote them off as a gimmick group until I watched KARATE, and my mind was blown just like yours. KARATE is the song that really got me into them, and it is a great choice for a first song. This is one of the better music videos they have produced, but BABYMETAL is very much a live band. Think of them as musical theatre, the total performance is what they are all about, so from here on I would highly recommend watching all live performances. So, more songs! These can be found on KZfaq. I would highly recommend watching in this order: "Ijime, Dame, Zettai - Live at Sonisphere 2014 UK" - Title translates to "Bullying, No More, Forever". This was the last song of their first big show in the west where they were bumped up to the main stage. The girls were scared the UK metal heads were going to throw bottles and boo them off the stage. "Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God Intro" - The girls are backed by the Kami Band (God Band) made up of some of the best metal musicians in all of Japan, and in my opinion the world. This is a Su-Metal solo, but it really shows off the Kamis and Su's voice. "Road of Resistance Live in Japan" - This is how BABYMETAL ends an arena show. "Syncopation (Live In Hiroshima 2017) Compilation" - I normally wouldn't recommend a compilation, but this is my favorite BABYMETAL song so I have to recommend it to you and it's the best one on KZfaq. The video was taken from a bunch of different shows but the audio is all from the Hiroshima 2017 show. There are many more, but this will do for now. BABYMETAL is performing on a US tour this September! If they're playing near you I would highly recommend going if you like what you see. They're also releasing a new album in October, and to support it they've released new singles and played Glastonbury last week! I wouldn't recommend doing reactions to their new stuff yet because their management company Amuse is extremely heavy handed with copyright strikes on the new material, be careful! I've been a big fan of Babymetal for a long time now and one of the favorite things for a Babymetal fan to do is watch reaction videos like this one because it reminds us of how we first started. After 5 years of being a huge fan I'm gonna be seeing them 3 times this September! I can't wait. My suggestion for the next music video for you to watch is their one for Gimme Chocolate. It's their most popular video (over 100 million views) and is easily their catchiest song. Now this was an exceptionally good reaction, I love watching people discover Babymetal the same way I did - just by chance. There is an accepted norm for Babymetal reactions going from first song - WTF did I just listen to but it has intrigued me. Second song - this is so weird, it shouldn't work but I think I like it, I need to hear more. Third song - this is absolutely the best thing ever, I need to see and hear everything they ever did and I'm starting on that right now! You seem to have skipped stages one and two and gone straight to stage three (as I did and I can't quite remember when it happened but I still can't get enough of them, so I have to watch reaction videos so I can relive it over and over). I can't wait to see your reactions when you see them live - you have some great suggestions already, we'll give you more as soon as you need them ... and you will need them. Just to add, as it hasn't been mentioned yet - they are touring the US (20 dates) in September and October - if you're lucky they may be coming somewhere near to you (I am assuming you are in the US) and you may still be able to get tickets.

Oh three things you will see in comments alot 1. Kitsune - the BM handsign (like the infamous horns but done with the thumb and fingers together not curled into the palm). Great reaction. As other have commented there some great songs. Babymetal is in a genre of metal they call kawaii metal (cute metal) and are better live. Other Japanese rock/metal to react/listen to are Scandal, Band Maid, Wagakki band, and Lovebites.
