Challenge Make a Flag Pole

Күн бұрынMedieval Mayhem has called me out! Time to step up and show him what I came up with.
Here are the rules:
1. Can't cost more then $20.
2. Can't take more then 10 hours to get materials, tools and build.
3. Must be 8' tall.
To keep this going I'm calling you guys out for the same challenge. Make a flag pole for your unit, guild, family etc. and post a pic on my FB page here:

Nice one! :D I like to hammer a steel pipe into the ground first, then stick the flag pole into that. Works much better. Sure it's not 100% 'immersive' or medieval, but whatever. :P

I love the warts and all approach. Feels more genuine. Besides it gives me a good excuse to make another one :)

Camp tip: use a scrap metal or hardwood rod of about the same diameter as your pole and use a hammer to pre-drive a hole. It'll make your pole very secure. We use this trick to drive our Tiki torches about 8 inches into the ground and they don't move until de-camping day.

My main idea for that cross piece was so I could drive it into the ground anywhere. So if we are on the battle field and I need to plant the flag for whatever reason I can. Then when the line moves I can just pull it back up and take it with me.

i liked and was an interesting idea for camp corner markers. or as unit poles in combat events could place them around an arena to identify the groups taking part shame about the snap but it happens.

Yeah I think if I had used more appropriate power tools it would have been more resilient. I have a minor modification that would be perfect for this issue. Honestly I wouldn't have thought of it unless it broke lol It's a good excuse to try again with another video ;)

do you make your weapons for larping? do you have a preferred type of weapon combination? if you make the weapons, do you have a process?

I mostly buy what I need. It's just cheaper, looks better and faster. If I can't find what I want I make it. For example my plasti-dip shield series I go over how I make my Larp shields.

@@TheBeardedAxe Just came across your vids/channel and gave you props, but here some more! 👍👍 The plasi-dip is ferrsure way more durable and cheaper(in the end game) when looking at multiple projects, especially large ones or auto painting... point of my comment is... Have you tried "Hydro-Dipping" you can do basic stuff or design/print out and really do whatever; it's not even close to the durability of plasti, just more options.

@@Genessis001 I haven't tried hydro dipping. I'll have too look into it. Plastidipping shields are my main area of knowledge but weapons are more difficult to me. I think it's just easier to buy what I need.

Yeah I agree and if it can't handle a little bit of abuse then it just wasn't a good design. I think if I had used the proper tools and done tweeks it wouldn't have worked fairly well. Planning on a redemption video already lol Thanks for watching :)
