As a physician, I am HIGHLY pissed off I fell for the whole plant-based narrative. I believed all the BS, watched Game Changers, etc. I went vegan and could not figure out why my health was slowly deteriorating. I was also consuming quite a bit of the high oxalate “super foods.” I stumbled upon carnivore, researching autoimmune diets, since I suspected something was seriously going wrong with my health. I was biased against carnivore, with all the mainstream brain washing. I felt so bad however, I decided to try for 30 days, dumped the plants and went carnivore. My whole life turned around. All the pain in my body gone, and so much more. I am in my 50s and feel like I am reversing in age. Thus, I am now a recovering vegan and def on the warpath against all this health destroying plant power BS. It truly alarms me that as a military doc, the “lifestyle medicine” approach is being pushed down our throats, and our troops are suffering. The military chow halls are filled with commercial seed oils and low fat fake food now. Mental health issues, infertility, and obesity sky rocketing.

Dr Chaffee, I just got my bloodwork back, my triglycerides are 1475 & cholesterol 580. Is the carnivore diet really going to bring those numbers down to where they should be? I've always had high numbers in this seems to be hereditary. Thanks. Enjoyed the show. I started carnivore on July 1st. Vegan did not work for me.

Ok, i had Fybromialgia, chronic fatigue, chrinic pain, especially under my foot. I could not lut pressure. If i was standing, i had to bounce from one foot to the other, always. I could not stay still. Would be ealking hunching. Chronic migraine. Mental fog. IBS. The whole thing. Was diagnosed in 2018. Been struggling since forever but i didnt know. Been "real" since 2016. Huge crisis. I would fall on the ground in convulsion. I would need to lat in hot water for hours. Only thing that could hel0 me. I would smell things that arent there. My whole brain was caput. My mitochondria was damaged. Had "degenerative nerves" on the right side of my body. Electricity woyld not go thru from my right knee to my toes. I think it sums it up. Oh and humor problem. I would go all over the place. What made me happy would be extremely happu. And if aomething made me sad, i would have suicidal toughts. I really came close to do it. Thats the mindset i had when i did carnivore. It HAD to be radical. I needed a radical change. So i tried it. I was under the impression it would cost me too much. And IF i would still eat as much i did before, yeah. But on Carnivore your body regulate itself.

I have the diagnostic. Where i work, the insurance comoany wanted proof. Yeah i said work. I kept working all that time. Had to. Disability is not an option in Canada. My doctor would not allow it because i am a men. She told ke to suck it up and stop being so distressed. Ahe obviously had disgust and contempt. She wanted to park me on pills. Say there was nothing to be done. And keep me in that state for life

And so, i told her I WILL HEAL FROM THIS. I WILL BE THE FIRST! WATCH ME! I stopped taking the pills 1 janiary 2 years ago. 2021 i think. And i know nothing. I startes studying. It started with ginseng. Because i know ginseng rebalance your chi. And i was fucked up. It led me to study why i had insomnia. The enzyme responsoble to carry vitamin D to the brain. This let me to study about vitamin B. Thiamine. Then i studied about the oils. How they deplete our bitamin B1 and how big food is poisoning us. Also, i LOVE pizza, but i was not able to eat carbs, it would LITTERALLY puff inside me. I would be able to taste the yeast in my mouth. My body would litterally fight for survival. So i had stop carb. But not sugar. I went Keto and tried to rebalqnce my diet. But its the whole concept of food that needs to change. So i went Carnivore.

My husband’s family is Seventh Day Adventist, and a lot are vegan/vegetarians. I’ve gone to church with him, and I look around and everybody looks so unhealthy and plenty are fat! I tried going vegetarian in my late 20’s after having 3 kids thinking I’d lose weight, and I not only gained weight but felt awful! I then had thyroid issues and had to have my thyroid removed. I gained 40 pounds after that after being thin my whole life. I am 5’11” tall and I weighed 150 pounds. I steadily gained weight and couldn’t figure out why. I made all homemade food, even homemade bread. I thought I needed “heart healthy whole grains” and lots of vegetables. I also went back to eating meat. (I only lasted 6 months as a vegetarian and said, this is for the birds!) When my doctor told me my A1C is 5.9 and I was on the verge of being a diabetic, I couldn’t believe it. But I had so much inflammation and pain in my body. I could barely move. I could barely bend over to put my socks and shoes on. I steadily gained weight and felt even worse. Then I read a book called Wheat Belly. That book changed my life. I gave up wheat and my inflammation went away, but I substituted wheat for all kinds of gluten free goodies. I was still addicted to sugar. Then after being told I was going to become a diabetic I went Keto. I switched from gluten free goodies to Keto goodies. Then I saw your video on carnivore diet and decided to give it a try. It’s been a long journey but after going Keto, I plateaued. Then I started intermittent fasting and lost more weight. I plateaued again and decided to try the carnivore. This is the first time in my life that I feel like I have kicked my sugar addiction. I can watch everybody else eating goodies and I feel no interest in joining them. But I can tell you, I am not telling anybody else outside my immediate family that I’m eating only meat, eggs, butter, beef tallow and salt. My husband’s Adventist family would be horrified. I am sorry to say that I could never convince them even with all the proof right in front of their faces! My husband doesn’t approve either. He thinks I should eat vegetables and salad too. I just say, yeah yeah, I will but not right now. It’s hard when you have family that thinks you are going to harm yourself, but I feel just fine! Getting some support would be nice but I don’t need it! At my heaviest I weighed just last year 194 pounds. On my journey from Keto, to fasting to carnivore, I am now down to 162 pounds. I may never get back to 150 pounds because I am on thyroid medication but I feel great! I may never go back. Sorry for the novel but I had to tell you!

I could write your exact same story. I’m 56, 5’ 8” and weigh(ed) about the same. My husband is tolerating this change. But I just started about 8 weeks ago. (And have so much to learn and adjust.) It’s peach canning season for us, but no more “tasting” peaches (which did taste better than ever!) I know that some people do fine with little “tastes” of things here and there, but not I.

I agree so much about what Dr. Chaffee said about moderation. When typical sugar/carb addicted people speak of moderation, it's just an excuse to keep eating whatever they want. Moderation is the thing that's not sustainable. Carnivores eat their meat with a healthy side of conviction and confidence.
@Mallchad
@Mallchad 11 ай бұрын
The trouble I always find is when I ask people to explain what "moderation" or a "balanced diet" looks like. they can't do it. its always a generic "have some pasta and meat, and some veggies and fruit, skip the sugar". Like. wut does that even mean. There are like 1097 edible vegetable species and 30 varients of pasta. How do I breakdown macronutrients, how much sugar is too much sugar? D: You can't work towards a goal if you don't know what you're aiming for
@cruiser6260
@cruiser6260 11 ай бұрын
@@Mallchad so with the 30 variants of pasta, it's like with meat. Watch Saturday night fever and the scene where John Travolta grandma puts an extra pork chop on his plate, his dad yells One pork chop! I gain weight on carnivore eating as many chops as I want, never mind trying every edible animal. I have to moderate my meat. u have ONE bowl 🥣 of ONE (1) type of pasta 🍝. Spaghetti on the 1st of the month. Ravioli on the 2nd, Lasagna on the 3rd, fettucini on the 4th, Macaroni on the 5th and so on until the end of the month you have had all 30.
@ernesthader1109

Some people can't do moderation as even a slight smell or sight of food they're addicted to, can induce them to eat said foods. And carbs are very addictive.

Doctors watch adverts on TV, just the same as everyone else. When you get bombarded with adverts telling you that you need fibre, saturated fat is bad, vegetable fat is healthy, meat is unhealthy, and society all around you keeps repeating the lie then the lie becomes truth and truth becomes generally accepted fact.

God told Noah to gather food for Noah's family & the animals to eat. duh. he had plenty of seeds on the Ark. and some plants survived the Flood because afterwards a dove was set loose & returned with an olive branch. it's so silly to wonder about such things. and the Taurine dependence of obligate carnivores may be a post-Flood mutation or adaptation. so don't worry about the cats on board.

I am a former nurse… I have found that the practice of medicine has changed greatly over the years. When I was a nurse in the early 90’s as a nurse we taught the patients how to change their diet and lifestyle to change their medical situation. Now a days I find, here in Malaysia, the doctors are basically just handing out drugs for whatever symptoms the “clients” have. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s all about the money 😢

Me too. I wasn't particularly fond of fruit before I started carnivore, but now I crave fruit occasionally, not every day. maybe eat an apple or some watermelon. raspberries and strawberries can also be tasty now in summer. Don't get cravings for more unhealthy food or sugar. Now I eat when I'm hungry and listen to my body.

XO, I believe it was a guest on Dave Mac's program that talked about learning there are 2 types of personalities when it comes to food: moderators & abstainers. Moderators, like you, for example, can occasionally "cheat" on carnivore and Not suddenly find themselves back in the clutches of massive cravings again. For abstainers, though, the opposite is sadly true. One or 2 bites and they are off the rails with the cravings for more they thought were behind them. She found out the hard way she was an abstainer type because almost immediately many of her symptoms came right back. Plus, once she got back on track with carnivore, it took longer to start feeling as good as she been. It was a recent podcast. Wish I could find it again. ..

I just wanted to note that the person who asked the question who said " I lived in Italy" may have lived in Italy 20 years ago. We were just in Italy for 6 weeks, in Rome specifically, and I was shocked how many obese Italians I saw. We had come from living in Albania for two years, where there was hardly any obesity, but they were living a mostly meat based with fresh plants and seafood diet. I commented in Italy that they have succumbed to the processed food, fast food lifestyle and sadly were getting as fat as Americans.

I was the one who left that comment. I lived in Italy for a year in 2004. So yeah almost 20 years ago now! My friends there did tell me that super markets were moving in and becoming more popular after I left, but I saw none while I was there. I lived in the northern piedmont area in the country side. But did travel to a few cities while there. At that time, the fattest people I saw were the 75+ grandmas and they were maybe 30+ lbs overweight. Nothing like the insanity that is the USA. My quote for years was “when I landed in Italy I asked ‘where are all the fat people’ then a year later when I flew home and got off the plane I answered myself and said ‘oh yeah, they are all in the US.”

This whole food thing is common sense. When I was a kid, we ate meat, bacon, sausage eggs for breakfast, fatty beef, pork, fish etc. In the 70’s they flipped the food pyramid upside down and now…EVERYONE is FAT. Seriously, it’s an epidemic. I fell for the whole thing, and then few years ago I went back to how I ate as a kid with meat as the main part of the food. We didn’t have “snacks in between means, we worked hard all day, we did things… anyway, when you get clear of the junk, stop worrying about the fat in the meat, somehow you lose weight and feel better. I lost 42 pounds in 75 days.. got rid of carbs and everything sugar.. big breakfast and I’m full all day…that’s the strangest thing.. anyway… I ate bacon, eggs, sausages, hamburgers patties, pork chops, chicken fish etc.. and lost 19lbs in the first 30 days. Never felt better…oh, and my doctor who has always pushed drugs on me is shocked with my bloodwork… he doesn’t believe that it just from eating meat…. even my dentist is surprised, he said that my gum disease seems to be going away…my gum pockets are reducing to normal levels…WTF is that all about? Has anyone else heard about this happening? Anyway…I’m ranting…. Get rid of carbs and your food cravings will completely disappear. So strange.

He was 48 and a very big man. At the time I had been running 10 K races to try and stay in shape, but at 5’8” and 190 lbs I was losing the race for health. I went on a very low fat high carb diet. By 64 I weighed 220 lbs and couldn’t run a 5 K. At 67 I discovered keto, at time 210 lbs. 7 months later I weighed 170 lbs and felt much better. Now, I’m 160 and have much more energy, Carbs are terrible for me.

Dr Chaffee, Dr Ken Burns, and Kerry have all influenced me to do this and I'm seeing the benefits already. Many thanks to them for taking the time to provide us this knowledge. My triglycerides are down to a third of their pre-carnivore value. My energy level has gone from absolutely none to enormous amounts of energy. I'm thinking more clearly too. Yes it was a little tough breaking the sugar/carb cravings. Once you start to feel the difference, that helps greatly with wanting to keep eating this way. The cravings go away. I only eat when I'm hungry now. No snacking. I've lost 22lbs.

I missed the live, but wanted to comment on Italy being a place where people live on carbs. I was in Italy for several weeks in many locations and am descended from Italian immigrants to the US. Italy is where I had the best steak of my life. Their traditional diet is, of course, heavy on fish and meat. Historically, when meat could not be afforded or was scarce, they stretched meals with plants, potatoes, rice, beans, and veggies, like all people forced to do so out of poverty or scarcity. Italian immigrants to this country (starting out very poor) made meals stretching meat, which is why we think Italians eat nothing but the so-called "Mediterranean diet."

Yeah, I visited Italy when I was 15 and was surprised to learn that the whole country wasn't just one big Olive Garden.I wanted fettuccine alfredo, and nowhere had it! Instead I had the best osso bucco of my entire life and incredible wild boar shank, etc. I had the same issue in Mexico. I wanted a burrito, and no one had even heard of that. I think we forget that the "ethnic foods" we get in the US often have nothing to do with the foods of people's homelands. Sometimes they weren't even invented until after the people got here, like fortune cookies.

@lisalapoint7022 - But Italy became one of the richest, most powerful nations on the planet during the Roman empire. It's never really been a "3rd-world country" & has thrived in the Post WWII years. For generations, Italians have continued to eat pasta dishes & make delicious meals from semolina wheat. Two of the world's most beautiful women (IMO), Gina Lollobrigida & Sophia Loren, have eaten pasta their entire lives & never got fat. @@freedomfighter4990 The type of wheat will be different and their traditional pastas are less processed. Just like wheat used in bread in France has less gluten. This was a very helpful interview to show others yet to discover the benefits of a carnivore diet. Our family ate according to the dietary advice, and therefore, we have been eating only toxic plant oils and low fat, low salt, and high fibre and processed foods. I feel so ripped off by my schoolinng, media, and medical industry. All who promoted and still basicslly do promote processed plant oils are healthy over natural animal fats. I see the effects of this lifestyle every day in my children who are on autisic spectrum and suffer from ill health too. Im new to carnivore diet and so acknowledge good diet will take time to help if possible these issues. But as you say, Anthony, these issues due to lack of nutrition could have been prevented had we known and given the truth and facts regarding what a proper human diet is. Im furious at the greedy food company's but even more so towards my teachers and doctors confusing us and causing us all this illness. It's a war on truth, and the one regards eating carnivore diet is a huge basic truth everyone has a right to know. Down with false lies. How dare they advise us seeking nutritional advice to eat veggies and fruits high in plant toxins and fructose and over the more healthy natural sources of food such as meat, eggs, and fish.

I have two adult boys on the autism spectrum, and carnivore has been a game changer. Especially for my oldest who now sleeps through the night, was FINALLY able to toilet train at 24 yrs old, he speaks much more clearly and his violent mood swings have mostly disappeared. We have done all kinds of therapies, seen doctors and specialists, tried SSRIs and other drugs, and NOTHING has helped him as much as this change in his diet. Getting through the first two weeks was hard, he was very addicted to sugar. But we got through it. I wish I had known about carnivore years ago. My son could've been in much better health, and our family could have been spared all the agony we have been through. I'm very thankful these men have the courage to tell the truth. I hope it saves many more people from needless suffering.

Wow - I am totally BLOWN AWAY by this interview. I’m one of those who studied and intended to obtain a degree in nutrition but, with one class left to go, my school was closed down supposedly by the AMA. So I studied nutrition extensively and yet I’ve not felt well for many years and getting worse. This all made so much sense … off to do some more research … Oh and P.S. - that shirt you’re wearing (“Compassionate Carnivore”) is right up my alley as I’m such an animal lover and often thank the chicken or cow I’m eating for sacrificing their precious life for me.

I remember the candy Camel cigarettes. Exactly like the real thing except in candy form. I remember thinking as a kid that it was pretty inappropriate to sell that stuff to kids.

I was so happy to find some beef bacon. I so enjoyed it! Then I couldn’t sleep that night due to heartburn and congestion. I looked more closely at the label. It had sugar in it! Ugh! I was so miserable. I won’t make that mistake again.

Ease into it. I’m about one month in and I really had to slowly get to full carnivore. If you already have health issues like heart burn like I do then the damage is already there. Don’t give up. Don’t do as much fat at first and then add more in each week.

Kerry, I have no idea how I came upon your YT channel, but I want to thank you for starting me on my carnivore diet. Also thanks to Dr Chaffee and Jordan Peterson for their input on the subject. I was doing Keto and IF, but I hit a wall. In 14days on carnivore I have lost 15:pounds and am back to a Size 4 again. I feel great and I've had no problems adjusting to it. Thank you so much!

On Pottenger's Humans, you need taurine to fold any protein, and the closest thing to a plant source is at most 1000nanomol/g, algae, practically nonexistant, and it's algae.
