1) Teaching feeling words, there several good wheel charts with a spectrum of feeling words. 2) Not every "highly reactive" or "negative affect" kid is the same as "feeling profoundly" deeply internally in temperment. Parents should learn the difference. 3) expect to have them "practice" how to handle thing which means the parent needs to show how to practice handling things with patience and firmness.

I guess this podcast isn't referring to Sensory Processing Sensitivity? You're probably aware that it's a genetic trait, but what you may not be aware of is the upside to high sensitivity, labelled as Vantage Sensitivity by Dr. Michael Pluess. Worth checking out because high sensitivity is not necessarily an extra burden for parents. Anyway, I'm only halfway through this episode, but I'd love to hear views on the full spectrum of sensitivity, not just the drawbacks and consequences of overestimation.

My two adult daughter's are in a really big fight I'm not sure how to help them my middle daughter is 18 i think she feels really hurt and I feel like it triggers her abandonment wound my oldest daughter she is 20 she wanted her boyfriend to stay and my middle daughter freaked out both girls were physically abused and emotionally abused by their father and he was also an alcoholic who I was married to for 18 years so it makes it difficult to guide them because they were both abused by their dad they both have different triggers I just don't understand how to help I'm not with their dad anymore i have also done a lot of work on myself I just want to help them heal because the pain of what we went through it doesn't have to last forever I just feel so bad for everything they went through and really wish I would have taught them what I'm learning now to be honest I really wasn't healthy when I was with my ex either it was a really difficult time in my life and I did the best I could in the situation because i was being abused too I just don't understand how to teach them conflict resolution I know conflict doesn't have to be yelling and screaming could you do a video on how to help abused children with forgiveness and conflict its breaking my heart to see them not getting along they are so close they are not just sister's they are best friends ❤
