Not to mention that going through rough stuff is not letting us down. Also this is not about putting us (guys) through it, this is about you needing a pat on the back. So although not knowing you personaly this video makes me crying and gives some faith and hope that I'm not alone with this shitty situation. I appreciate your need to share. How, and how long we grieve varies from person to person. You have challenging family dynamics that obviously made this even more difficult. Take your time. It sounds like you have a lot going on that a therapist could help you unpack. A good therapist is worth every penny. I grieve deeply also. So, fully understand the intensity. But, you have people who are rooting for you. You have a supportive son who needs you. I hope to see more of your videos, when you are ready.

Considering your last comments about selecting relationships for you and for your son I think this might be about boundaries and looking out for your self interest and putting it into action (speaking / doing). This is something people get professional help with and I think I would encourage this. I'm a 49 year old man with a career in structural engineering more behind me than not hobbling my way through learning programming. I think your style of communicating and your bias to simplicity is terrific and I think you have a lot to offer - and to receive - from many whom you have not yet met. I can only imagine the pain of losing someone close to you, but it's good to hear you have people around you to talk to. Learning how to firmly say no is one of the most important skills in life.
