I just hope CISA is going after these scumbags. Literally putting a wholesome and important business such as this through turmoil. Fun fact, the MicroStrategy CEO and it's people are a bunch of alt-right terrorists using crypto to pay their terrorist buddies like proud boys and patriot front. MicroStrategy also pushed anti-vax narratives, pro-trump lies, infowars conspiracy theories, and attacking anyone that isn't a conservative extremist like they are. I find it convenient that there are hackers running around hacking others to promote THIS PARTICULAR business. A business based on scamming people through crypto on a company that has gotten in trouble multiple times with the SEC and is in FBI criminal investigations, along with a long history of fraud. I'd be absolutely certain that this company is paying hackers to force the promotion of their company. Not to mention this company being involved with dark money connected to republicans pushing the latest big lie. It's hardly a conspiracy these days with all the blatant stereotypes. The CEO even uses alt-right terrorist memes from 4chan on his social media, ffs. Let's also address that crypto needs to be illegal (it's already illegal in many countries already). It's nothing more than an easily manipulated volatile market used by the worst criminals to launder and scam with. It's not some miracle newer safer currency, it's the compete opposite. Same with NFTs and all other blockchain technology. It's easily abused. It's appalling that google does nothing to block crypto scams and also does nothing about hackers and scammers that use it on their platform. I STILL see crypto bot scam comment chains, google must either not care or not have any control over their platform.

This also happened to me once but I recovered the channel the next day. I downloaded a supposed Beta of a game that was not released on steam yet. and they were offering a very generous amount money to play it and show it on my KZfaq video, and no longer than 2-3 hours my password was changed and all my videos hidden with a crypto scam stream playing on my channel. I contacted TeamKZfaq on Twitter explaining everything, and they sent me a link to change the channel/email password and that was the end of it. @@OTaxanO Finding a way to intercept or redirect a two factor would mean someone somehow accessed his phone and saw/guessed his Gmail password. Like a sketchy hotel could intentionally have a team to try and hack celebrities phones, and have hidden cameras to see your password, or he downloaded a sketchy app, used the same password for the app as his Gmail, which is a common mistake. I could go on but the key to not having this happen is. Do not trust any Wi-Fi you do not know unless you have a secure vpn, make sure no one is trying to spy your password in the era of drones and super cameras even high up windows from far away aren't safe, using smart long passwords, personally using an encryption key is best to avoid password spying/guessing, keeping account of your cell phone at all times, and just knowing who to trust.

Yo I wanna thank you guys for documenting your experience with this. I think saw a notification of that livestream the other day, and wondered who had gone down this time (channel was already no longer identifiable). I've seen it happen to a number of kpop groups' channels, so I was like oh no, not again... I wonder how hard it must hit some of the bands and entertainment companies. Not everyone is well established like main, major kpop entertainment companies most hear about. It sucks watching the fandoms panic and lose momentum that could really help their group in terms of things like music video views, which can have a huge effect on a group's chances at gaining traction and respect in a very competitive industry. Saw one channel go down just a day or two after dropping a new MV and album, and it took around 5 days, maybe? for it to come back. That time is critical. Every hour counts. It was heartbreaking and cruel. I think my favorite dance crew who support and choreograph things for my favorite group also may have been hit this way... They didn't have much luck with recovery. There should be years of content on their channel. The oldest video there is now one that's only 7 months old. Anyway.... I feel that things like your video here might help raise awareness of this issue. The most I usually see is a sort of "Yup, we've been hacked, we're working on it." from an entertainment company. It was very interesting seeing behind the scenes as guys handled the issue. Hopefully those scumbag hackers can be stopped.

What better revenge than to hack a beloved channel, crypto scam their audience, and blame it on the company who just fired you. It could always be a cover, but I can see it being a revenge plot in attempt to take down the company that just fired you, while running away with the profit made from the damage. It may have just been an angry criminal who doesn’t know when to stop, and was seeking to take down the company he worked for with him.

It's because they know that youtube can fix it. KZfaq has many times in the past done this. And especially for big channels they try to get them back online fast to make KZfaq more money. Coridor probably talked to the employee responsible for keeping their account running properly (Their handler) and they got everything rolling. So staying calm here is the best thing to do. Be calm and do your job.

It's eerie when you release a video about this exact subject... and then literally the next day one of your favorite channels uploads this exact experience. I'm glad everything got settled with the channel and you guys at CorridorCrew are back with "only" a few thousand in losses. Really great job handling this too, giving everyone some tips and information on handling situations like this.

I believe this is the most 'popular' hack thing right now. A similar thing happened to a much smaller channel and the hackers managed to get back into the channel through a google extension.
@hypaavos3554
@hypaavos3554 Жыл бұрын
Google extension malware suck. You cant delete it meaning you have to quickly dig through your computer even in the deepest parts that you might of not even known existed to then try and find a suspicious application to stop the virus from installing itself. However you then need to get an anti malware or anything similair to than be able to delete the actual extension in the first place. I would know becaue its happened to me before :/

That fact that this is still happening is so frustrating. This problem has been rampant with small channels and a handful of big ones. The issue is a lot of these brands from hackers are scapegoats for the real hackers. Something to note, 2FA is important but its not guaranteed. Some companies literally still give people a workaround 2FA or easy redirection.

@@st0nedpenguin A lot of these KZfaq channel scams are not very obvious, sometimes even using a compromised company email to make the scam email look more legit. You can take every precautions available, but at the end of the day if you're on the internet you're still gonna be vulnerable to hacks.

Scary thing about the most common "token in an app that changes every minute" 2FA is that it CAN still be brute forced. Really hope more companies switch to the Microsoft-style notification-based 2FA (which is still not completely airtight but at least there you 100% need access to the device instead of luck)

this is why 2FA is important in modern days, not only you get notified of possible login attempts to your accounts but also prevent the attacker from proceeding since the code goes to your phone.

This might be in bad taste but kinda lucky that they did something and revealed you've been compromised. It could have been worse. The intruder could have spied on you for months, gathering information, getting access to the whole system and even more of your private information outside corridor.
@stephenchurch1784
@stephenchurch1784 Жыл бұрын
They aren't usually looking to spy on you. People trust social media accounts with more subscribers/followers but scammers don't want to invest the time or money needed to get those subscribers. Hackers get access to already popular pages then sell them to the scammers to use. The practice isn't even that well hidden. You can find forums in the normal web where this is happening right out in the open
@CZghost
@CZghost Жыл бұрын
Yeah, that would be even worse. They could easily just straight up delete the channel on their own, just with a single click of a button. They could read emails, get to phone numbers, get family members contacts, and they could use that knowledge against their employees. Cybercriminals are not just cryptoscammers and hackers that are seeking monetary gain. Sometimes their motives for cybercrime are more personal, and that's usually very dangerous, because they can ransom you, then can threaten you. They know your real address, they know your family members, where do they live, and they can use that against you. That shit is super scary.

Who says that the hacker hijacked the channel the day he successfully hacked?
@DreadKyller
@DreadKyller Жыл бұрын
@@littlecoldhands because the hacker behind this hacking is the same hackers behind many other channels that also got hacked around the same time. All of them rebranded, videos private, and constant livestreaming of the same crypto scam. It hit dozens of channels, over a period of months. Many of these other channels revealed later information about how they got hacked, and it usually occurred within a day after the breach. Their goal was to broadcast a crypto scam to decently popular channels (Corridor Crew was an outlier being larger than the majority of the channels hacked) so that it got a bunch of views and scammed money from people. They weren't in the business of surveillance. Also they found the login the hacker(s) used to start the stream, and it logged in right before the stream started, and it was the only log of them logging in, the hackers logged in and went right to work. In isolation you may ask how we know they weren't spying first, but due to it being a repeated event, we know the timetable of how these hackers operated, with how fast the stream started and password was changed after immediate login, for several dozen channels, there's a high likelihood it was all automated.
