Every phase dropped the ballat some point. No sense in asking why now but WHY tf do you call that play when you got a 6'6 QB that converts sneaks all year!!?? You extend that drive and JAX might have 7 less points. That was the beginning of the momentum shift right there. IDK if this loss is as painful as the '06 Chargers loss but it's about neck and neck.

Chargers have no speed deep threat receivers and that’s the problem our gm refused to address all off-season and before the trade deadline. Our best deep threat receivers were all injured lol nobody was getting open in the 2nd half! Maybe it’s our oc’s bad play calling, maybe it’s the gm, maybe it’s both. At a minimum the chargers need a new coaching staff.

As a lifelong fan I would disagree. The writing as been on the wall for this team all year. Poor second half adjustments, can’t score in the third quarter to save their damn life. Offense never really clicked at all this year. Even if we won this game we would have gotten embarrassed by the chiefs. 2006 we legit would have won the super bowl if we didn’t lose to those stinkin pats. What’s done is done. Yeah play calling was changed to conservative instead of just continuing to bring down the hammer. Lombardi always changed to conservative in the second half. Starts running the ball and only letting herbert throw 3-5 yards. Lombardi has needed to go for years. Now I think Stayley blew his chances also

Agree. The players love him, he’s growing, Spanos is a cheapskate, they really need to use that first round pick for talent instead of coaching, and Lombardi has to go. I have actually defended him most of the season as the combo of poor O line play due mostly to injury, and lack of down field speed is a terrible combo. He’s blamed for all the check downs and I haven’t felt that was fair, as some of that is just Herb being smart when the big plays aren’t there. But the perpetual and predictable first down run without creativity is just stupid. Second and longs too often lead to third and longs. Even Herbert can’t overcome that. Herb only had a few rollouts. And yes, not having Mike hurt and Herb himself wasn’t at his best tonight, but I think it was in large part because the play calling never let him get in a groove and was far too predictable.
