At one minute in 1:00 Charles sheds tears, "in fear of God, not to be entered into lightly...etc." he knew he was lying when taking these vows. He was forced by his family. Sorry for both of them.

When you compare this exchange of wedding vows to that of Kate & William you will see a tremendous difference. Diana is so stressed that she is not even looking at Charles, while Kate & William maintain eye contact throughout the vows. Quite revealing, don't you think?

Mike Brock that was also a time in the 90s where royals didn’t really get divorced or married divorcees. Have you watched the crown? His uncle, David aka Edward VIII basically caused a huge scandal by refusing to be king, as the government and his family wouldn’t let him be married to a twiced divorcee. In the English church you can only marry a divorcee if the spouse is dead. The monarchy didn’t want that to happen again. In addition, the royal family kinda preferred Diana as a bride over Camilla: Camilla wasn’t of high enough status as she was a minor noble and she wasn’t a Virgin as she was already divorced. Diana, on the other hand, was young enough, of high enough status and breeding, and was a relative of Sir Winston Churchill, who was the favorite prime minister of the queen. That’s essentially why Diana was chosen.

No, he's bored...his voice didn't sound shaky to me. Diana was the one who was rather scared. She was sensitive and being the center of so much attention overwhelmed the timid little mouse.

I saw her once, dressed so demurely in a spotted frock, with straw hat and white gloves, looking so innocent...and suddenly she dropped her lids and slid her eyes sideways...and it was so.....you couldnt really say.....so ancient, somehow, so mysterious and totally feminine...like Mary suddenly became Eve....or even Lilith.

Beautiful Diana, betrayed from the outset, used for her virginity and her womb whilst he is a vile creep, wanting to comeback in another life as Camilla's tampax. Diana was so young, just 20 and of the allusion that the future King was in love with her, she was swept away with happiness and came down to earth when she found he was still seeing Camilla. I read that she only met him for private 'dates' perhaps six times before he decided she was the one he wanted to use and until the wedding she always called him 'Sir'...how weird is that?

1302Viv I feel like William and Kate were allowed to marry because of Diana and Charles. Diana and Charles only really married because he couldn’t marry Camilla - she was of low birth and divorced, the same way Edward VIII couldn’t marry Wallis Simpson. It was a huge scandal. But after opinions changed, and Charles and Camilla married, William and Kate were allowed to. After all, Kate wasn’t of nobility - her family was upper middle class which means in England they were filthy stinking rich.

Look at Charles face throughout the entire video, the way he looked around, up and away from the Bishop, you could see he wasn't bothered at all. Poor Diana :( She seemed like such a lovely, kind woman and all Charles did was choose Camilla over her. I thought she looked stunning in this video, the dress is like one from a fairytale! Again, all you haters observing the negativity you wish to see. Charles clearly wiped his eyes of tears. How can we know that he did not go into that marriage hoping for the best given the pressure he was under to be married to a virgin. They were both thrown into this and gave the world two beautiful boys and many lessons. We do not know what really happened between them initially to bring about what the media fed us. Camilla should not have continued to push herself onto Charles in the name of their long time friendship. She should have disappeared if she really loved Charles, and not continually presented herself to him. Now she is a senior member of the royal family, which is a self serving egotistical goal having nothing to do with LOVE.

I kind of feel bad for Prince Charles. Yes, he cheated. But everyone forgets that Princess Diana cheated as well. He was forced to marry a woman he didn't love, but always stayed loyal to his one true love. In a novel, that would be the ultimate romance story. In real life, he is hated by people who don't know him. Surely if his own sons can forgive him, the public can too? I think the both of them are to blame for the marriage collapsing. No one forced her to marry him.

Ordinary girl? I couldn't get specific stats on what her extremely wealthy, aristocratic family was worth. But to give you an idea of how "ordinary" they were... several members of her family including her brother Charles, 9th Earl Spencer, are worth upwards of $100 million. So yeah, she was born with more money than 99.99999999999% of the world can even imagine. Not "ordinary" at all...

Whether there’s any particular royal reason(s) behind this marriage, a vow is a vow which should be respected and kept especially if one’s the future King. Otherwise those who testify in court have all legitimate reasons to follow suit.

Charles does look bored, but that is the way he always looked. He was always looking around, observing, seemingly uninterested, he is a philosopher more than a King, really. He talks to plants, and paints water colors. Ok, that's fine, but what else can you say he does. Charity work is also fine, but career wise. I fear this fate for William and Harry. They are favorites only because of Diana. So far it looks like they are only doing what there father is doing. They both gave up their careers to do the royal charity, appearance, and the like. Where is the modernization anymore. They fell into this life that was layed out for them.

Charles was undoubtedly forced into this marriage, his love was always with Camilla but he knew the rules and "their" treatment of Diana was CRUEL. I realize William and Harry are adults but I don't know if I could be in the same room with Charles and especially Camilla, I'm not British and I wonder how the British people came to accept her. I know life goes on but if they stopped the minute he said I Do, things may have been different but she nor Charles gave the marriage to Diana a chance, she was just a baby maker, and how sad is that!
