It's so crazy that the only fight he hasn't finished in 3+ years was one against Ferguson where almost anybody else would have tapped to that nasty ass armbar. Oliveria has become one of the most underappreciated talents in MMA history, the run he's had at lightweight is one for the history books

Oliveira is a real people's champ from Brazil. Skilled, humble. Ground game is awesome. But also showcasing high level striking standing up. I'm from Russia but going to root for this guy! Keep going Charles!

I think his skillset is so uniquely well rounded, I have not seen anyone who can deliver so efficiently standing, wrestling and grappling. Great positioning, great distance management, huge arsenal and great finishing instinct. I have really grown to be a huge Oliveira fan and hope he reigns this division.

This dude really got my attention when I watched him against Kevin Lee. He was so impressive on the ground and just was relentless and stringing attack after attack and kept Lee in constant survival/reaction mode on the ground. After that I had a bad feeling for Ferguson fighting this guy after that....He really is a different level on the ground. Poirier also has an excellent ground game imo, not as much a specialist as Charles but certainly not a pushover, he understands the ground and can be impressive in many ways also. Interesting fight right here....May the best man win...both good dudes. I remember always looking at Charles as a tough journeyman back in the day when he was matched up against Cowboy Cerroni....saw him as a tough guy but not a guy who could beat the top of the heap with any consistency...oh how things have changed, inspiring to watch.

I remember the times when Brazil was kinda taking over MMA in the days of Aldo, Silva and many others and they were beating all my favorite fighters. I used to root against them for that, I must admit lol but I always loved Charles cause I liked his style and his attitude but I felt that he was too small. Now, he's filled into his body and looking more impressive year after year and he's become one of my favorite fighters today. Truly a pleasure to watch.

he's a great fighter. He def does have heart, no doubting that, BUT i do recall one fight @FW, where he shyed away and retreated from a strike from Cub Swanson, ultimately resulting in him suffering a KO Loss. Justin might be referring to that - I don't think Justin would ever turn his back on an opponent, like Charles did. Not knocking the champ - he legit worked his way up, the old fashioned way and deserves a lot of respect for that in itself
