Love your videos. Speed and accuracy. I was a union bricklayer here in the states until I was 29 when I started college. Worked as a geologist until I retired. Now 72 and considering getting a job laying bricks again.

YT algorithm is a funny thing - today it brings me some bricklaying. And why not? Respect for teaching with a laugh and for the speed you place those bricks - watching you serve the mud is amazing! Oh, and love your tattoos too!

3:30. When you talk about fast tradesmen. Omg there was a plasterer on our site. And he was so fast. He used to literally do double the amount as the others. He had a guy with him as well. And he used to finish early . And when he left the site. You would have other spreads checking his walls for level and that. And it was all spot on. He used to make a fortune 😂😂😂

Tell ya what one.of the nicest Bricklayers I have ever seen I'm a left hander retired.from it now.but lovy clean technique . What a pleasure to watch to see such a young.lad with a great skill . I was on a taylor wimpey site and two of the brickies I was working with were late back after lunch break and the boss walked over to their car and they were smoking crack lool got sacked the same day

Lays bricks in a way I've never seen but bloody neat and quick doesn't smudge anything! Those profiles look like a pain in the arse to do tho I suppose once you get used to them they'd be alright

I know I bricky called Chris ,and he's that fast you get a kitchen extension for free he's neat as well does a very tidy job , seriously though you make it look easy and entertaining at the same time good work

Am not a brick layer but been laying for years with my bricky and he has never used profiles always mad me build corners. Only started profiles lately

Probably stupid question but how do you get the insulation in after you’ve done both inner and outer wall?

My foreman showed me the structural blueprints once and learned it in 30mins. I love learning new stuff. Laying bricks is much easier than laying rebars. And you're right quality over quantity.

Charlie... You can mark your profile with a fine pen from the bottom flange then put a small hacksaw cut on the mark... No more gauging every time you put them up mate. 🧱

I’m a quick bricky and earn good money Charlie but you do make it look effortless which is nice to see

The guys I knew all did their time, and moved on to piece-work, their work had to be good as well as fast if they wanted to be paid. I don’t remember purpose made profiles then, just bits of old skirting and roofing battens ! Congratulations on using a proper trowel with straight edges not one of those silly round edge American things ! My best brickie mate used to prefer a horrible great 14” narrow heel for 4 1/2” work but I could not handle the thing ! (comes of not being a bricklayer ) Hod carriers, great, mad,people. They can make a bricklaying crew, 3+1 or 5+2 keep you going and work 2 hrs a day more than you, mind you I suppose they are not allowed to jump off the scaffold into the sand any more, or slide down the ladders !

It's all well and good being fast so you earn money but you need too deliver for the client that's the problem with a lot of modern builders there isn't enough care taken in the craft not saying you Charlie but you probably know as well not everyone is interested in both earning and quality .

I done my city and guilds 1 year yts then 3 years college block release My teacher on yts at Bircham Newton was Jack goldie it was an old ww2 airbase they done scaffolding carpentry bricklaying loads of diggers cranes etc labouring as well but he was a lovely teacher he would build a corner 6 brick high without a level What stood out most he would whistle theme from godfather he walked round inspecting work 😊
