Don’t Make This Mistake in Seoul 🇰🇷 (foreigners try Korean food in Korea) Spend a day with us in Seoul, South Korea! 🇰🇷 We kicked off our adventure with the famous Isaac Toast, a delicious and iconic breakfast treat. Fueled up, we headed to the historic Gyeongbokgung Palace, but not without a little detour - we accidentally took the train out of town! Once we got back on track, we finally made it to the palace and were greeted by the stunning sight of the palace and the cherry blossom trees beginning to bloom. After exploring the beautiful grounds, we grabbed a latte to recharge and soak in the serene atmosphere. To wrap up our day, we enjoyed a tasty onigiri from 7/11, a popular Korean snack, perfect for ending our adventure. Join us for a day filled with history, culture, and delicious food.

One thing you must understand when having Korean food is not to be deceived by the look and smell. I have had this one dish(stew) that the smell was unbearable but now I can't live without it LMAO! Koreans really do know what they are doing with their food. From land meat to seafood to root vegetables to fermentation knowledge, they are on top!

@@ChaseandShelbs Yes it's like Kiwi puree sort of thing.. :) btw Google Maps doesn't work well in South Korea. This is because satellite images can be detailed and transmitted to North Korea, causing security issues. The South Korean government requested Google to place their servers in Korea for military security reasons for so long, but Google refused, so Google Maps doesn't function properly. Instead, South Koreans use Naver or Kakao Map, which are very accurate.

Super cool. We actually love kiwis haha! And yes we got the hang of Navar Maps. It was a little hard to use at first but we picked it up pretty quick. Interesting, we didn’t know that’s why there’s no google maps. 😲

@@ChaseandShelbs I'm Korean and lived in London over 10 years before coming back to Korea. I didn't know why, but every time I came to Korea, Google Maps just wouldn't work properly, so I was super annoyed. Then, I happened to look up Korean news and found out about it. There are thousands of military bases or military installations in SK, and 70~80% are in artillery range of North Korea. In response, SK gov't demands that every place be masked with forests. All domestic companies such as Naver comply with this, but Google refused amazingly lol. Just for fun, I tried looking up military bases and airports I know on Google Maps, and they came up in such detail, I was rather surprised 🥶😱 Anyway, that's why Google Maps service is limited in SK 😢😶‍🌫️

about that triangle kimbap (onigiri), after you tear the center vinyl, pull each egdes then you can get the perfect shape. the reason that vinyl is cover the seaweed is to make seaweed not soggy. by seperating rice and seaweed, seaweed can still cripy before you get the first bite😊

The palace courtyard stone slabs on the floor are uneven and all tilted, which helps reflect light in different directions so it isn't too harsh on the eye on a sunny day, and the gaps and slopes help water run off to the ground more quickly on rainy days. It may look rough, but it's actually scientifically designed and proven to work well.

You can hire the traditional clothes at Insadong from your previous video and literally walk to the Palace. Also the coffee translation is correct because that's what people yell out that your coffee is ready but they just put that on the cup. In Korea, there are many coffee brands with prices as low as 1,500 won, such as Mega Coffee, a cheap street coffee shop. I do not recommend convenience store coffee. I also recommend kimbap, as there are franchises specializing in kimbap rather than convenience store kimbap. There are many 7-Elevens in other Southeast Asian countries, but in Korea, CU. There are an overwhelming number of branded convenience stores.

There are many people in Korea who are fluent in English, I don't understand why such an employee is working at the Gyeongbokgung Information Center. At least she could have shown some willingness to help😢

It's good to try on a hanbok, but it costs about 50,000 won to rent for two people, so it's cheaper to buy a ticket to enter. In Korea, no matter where you go, the entrance fee is the same for foreigners and Koreans.

Wow Korea, huh...? The truth is that Korea is always wow, you haven't noticed it for 10,000 years more. Don't mention france, italy, china, japan before Korea. And Don't say "Korea wow", please. It's a secret so keep a secret. We just want it... Enjoy and good luck!

We are a bit surprised by the harsh comments but we don’t let it get to us. We are just having fun and exploring a new country, explaining what we see while trying to make good content. We aren’t hurting anyone in the process so it has everything to do with them and nothing to do with us. And we have been getting the hang of navar maps 😃 Thanks for the kind words and support 🥰

They seem to be rookie travelers, well versed travelers would ask locals. Everyone would know where the palace is at. Would have saved time and effort if asked few people walking by…. Well, I guess making mistakes is part of travel.

38,000 won for the SIM card is about $28 US or I guess since you guys are from Canada, it is about $38 CAD. conversion to CAD is very convenient $1 = 1,000 Won : I didn't realize that.

Yesss that is right!! We wouldn’t have found the jackets and also wouldn’t have seen all the cherry blossoms. A great way to look at it 🤭 the toast was so good! Messy and saucy just how we like it 😜

ㅎㅎ커피는 뚜껑 열 필요없이 바로 빨대로 위에서 구멍을 통해서 찌르면 됩니다..삼각 김밥은 예쁘게 해서 먹을수 있는데 난도질을 해서 드셨군요..
