Some of the more lowkey benefits of the Walmart+ is that you get free tire repairs in the tire center and also free roadside hazard and warranty on any new tires you purchase at Walmart. May not be that big of deal if you don't drive but if you drive often, this does come in handy. I was pleasantly surprised by the benefit when I had a flat tire repair due to a nail.

@@metalheadami123 I travel for work and flight out of ATL but I live 1:30 from there. This means Im always early to my flight and to be able to hangout at the centurion louuge is the best thing I could ever ask for!! Im also enjoying walmart plus for groceries delivery and the upgrades when I rent cars. For someone traveling 2weeks/month, this is a no brainer in my opinion.

@@mariaterezaterra1867 I qualify for the card. They've been begging me to get it. If I traveled a lot I would get the card for the lounge room. But for an annual trip to Oregon I just can't justify it 😂. But in your case with business-related travel, which I assume is reimbursed, I would do it too ❤

The Platty is definitely the definition of a Card that you have to take a really hands-on approach with, but if you do that, there's significant opportunity for positive value. For me, I have a Centurion Lounge in SEA, would maximize at least $600+ in Credits and would be able to downgrade my Hilton Surpass due to Gold Status on the Platinum so it'd definitely be worth it. Two things, the 5x directly with airlines is better than other cards who offer 5x through their travel portal. When making changes, it’s far better to have booked directly. Second, being financially responsible I do not give a value for the lounge access and this card still gives more much much more value than the AF. With that being said, I could not imagine airport experiences without the lounges I’m able to visit every time I fly.

I gotta run through the charge card family, starting with the green, so I can eventually get the platinum, only to cancel it after a year and instead grab the Chales Schwab. My goal will eventually be that after I’ve done all Amex offers, is to keep the CS Platinum on the personal side and the BBP on the business side. Chase ended up being a better overall option for points for me, so I’m moving my dining spend over to Chase (my highest category monthly) after I’m Done with welcome offers! You can only get one Amex platinum offer now. If you have redeemed the vanilla, you will NOT be elegible for the Schwab and/or Morgan Stanley offer. This was done semi-recently. I went directly for Schwab.

Great video Chase. My Platinum card is going to get a workout this year. I do place value on lounge access as that where Im usually getting a drink or some food before flying. I do not eat before anymore due to trying to time my arrival to the airport a few years ago and missing a flight due to an accident on the highway to the airport. So yeah....lounge food it is :) Great breakdown of how you value every perk of the card.

The Venture X is way better in my opinion. 2X for everything and the Cap One travel portal doesn't;t have price inflation. Cap One lounges are starting to spring up too. Amex too much of a coupon book.

Walmart is location dependent. Where I live, Amazon absolutely sucks but because there’s a Walmart nearby, the shipping and delivery infrastructure is much better. I’ve saved more than the AF of the platinum just from buying walmart.

Recently used the hotel credit at one of the most expensive hotels in Korea (The Shilla Hotel) which I wouldn’t probably stay without the benefits. I would say it was worthy, I saw many affluent people and people in higher class plus the hotel was very gorgeous and stunning. Their amenities were top of the class, hotel workers were professional and good looking, hotel buffet was extensive and comforting plus the early check in and late check out did really made the experience beyond my expectations. When I came back to the US I did my global entry interview and I used my card to pay for it. Those two benefits alone I think almost paid off the annual fee. Hotel $200+$100 plus the breakfast buffet normally cost $50 per person and the global entry $100.

@@ChaseYokoyama I think the $200 hotel credit works better abroad. And yes it was a really good experience, made me realize how poor I am lol. I felt like part of that 10 percent of the society lol. I will probably have to talk to Amex for the retention next year. My next goal is to get that business class with ANA from Honolulu to Tokyo.

I think for my situation, the Platty will be just for the SUB. Right now the Venture X gives me what I need. Maybe this changes in the future but great video!

Had it since 09. Af went from 450 to 550 and now 695. I am actually thinking about canceling it next year. But having walmart+ to be able to get gas at sam's is a plus

Your wife would have to be traveling on the itinerary booked. Usually you show your amex card at check in and sometimes ID as well. I'll be honest that it varies from hotel to hotel. i've heard of stories where someone would use a friends FHR benefits without actually being there. But i believe those are not likely at all.

are you referring to the Amex Gold Hotel Collection benefit? Those would be on the same on either card so it doesnt matter which one you use. You also get those hotel collection benefits / credits on every eligible stay. There is no strict limit to how many times you can use it

Their Trip Cancellation/Interruption insurance SCREWED ME!!! I charged a $14,000 Alaska cruise from Vancouver to Anchorage. We got covid halfway through. They denied our claim because the it was not a ROUND TRIP CRUISE. We made the mistake of not booking our airfare back to Vancouver on the same card.
