I had the peer pressure question 😂😂😂 my husband and I are 22 and 21 and we have an 8 month old. I feel like no matter how many times we tell our friends that even practically we can’t go out all the time anymore with a baby, my husband’s friends always want to go buy colognes, shoes, clothes etc all the time. Obviously 250 colognes to most 21 year olds without a family and big bills is doable, but for us, 200-400 a month for stuff that we don’t need isn’t always practical. I feel like we need better friends 😂😂😂

I'm loving this finance series! For the kids savings accounts, when I was little my parents started a bank account for us and we would go to the bank to deposit our birthday and Christmas money. I have really strong memories of learning about interest when the bank statements would come in the mail. I know that Navy Federal used to have a great kids account program but I'm sure other banks do to. A high yield savings account is great for the kids too but the teaching aspect of their own account is so important.

If you plan to do Disney a lot in the future, you should look into the Disney visa. You rack up Disney rewards dollars that can be used at the parks, Disney stores, Disney movies, etc. My husband and I did Disneyland for our honeymoon 5 years ago and our Disney rewards points completely covered the cost of our park tickets (4-5 days worth!)

My husband (boyfriend at that time) was so hesitant with doing the zero-based budget and the cash envelopes... and now that we combined our finances he's seeing saving and debt payment with this method and he LOVES it so much :D
