Its like a Podcast but actually interesting, entertaining, about something I actually care about in a way thats not dry as dust and by people I can bare to listen to for more than 30 seconds. Oh and its not two or more dudes wasting my time by just telling random ass Storys for 2 hours. Stuff is actually happening in a reasonable amount of time.

I asked the following to ChatGPT: "Make me an olympic weightlifting program but make it funny" Here is what it responded with 😂... Here's a silly and humorous Olympic weightlifting program: Day 1: Snatch and Grab Warm up with 10 minutes of chicken dancing 5 sets of 3 reps of barbell snatches, with a weight that makes you say "Whoopsie Daisy" every time you lift it 3 sets of 8 reps of bicep curls using the heaviest kettlebell you can find, because why not Finish with 3 sets of 12 reps of deadlifts, pretending you're picking up your boss and throwing them into a dumpster Day 2: Clean and Jerk Off Warm up with a game of duck, duck, goose using medicine balls 5 sets of 3 reps of clean and jerks, with a weight that makes you yell "This one's for my ex!" every time you lift it 3 sets of 8 reps of overhead presses, imagining you're squishing a giant fly each time Finish with 3 sets of 12 reps of squats, pretending you're sitting down on the throne of your kingdom Day 3: Rest Day Take a nap, play video games, or just do anything you want (but not anything that'll make your muscles sore) Repeat the program for 4 weeks, then switch to a different silly weightlifting program!

Zack, the exchange you had with Dylan about twenty-four minutes in really hit home. You said, "Once you get to a certain level, they (C&J) are meant to scare you." Dylan said that you need to be "Down for pain" if you want to get better at C&J. I'm trying to get better. It hurts, and I'm sometimes not sure I'll make my percentages. I might be moving in the right direction, but I wish I had started doing this before I turned 51. Anyway, thanks for the encouragement and the content. I'm really enjoying the sessions with Dylan.

I’m about 6 years into training for weightlifting and y’all’s new content is exactly what I need. It feels like a lot of the lifters I loved to follow have retired or gotten popped, the cal strength media era is over, weightlifitng house’s brand and media focus has changed and y’all are really filling a gap in weightlifitng content. It’s been hard to feel connected to the sport lately and your videos have made me excited to be a part of the sport again rather than feeling obligated to train just cause. It’s nice to enjoy the weightlifting space and community again

Did what Dylan asked and used his question - Give me an Olympic weightlifting workout for an experienced lifter. ChatGPT: Here is a sample Olympic weightlifting workout for an experienced lifter: Warm-up: 10-15 minutes of light cardio (jogging, jumping jacks, etc.) Dynamic stretching and mobility exercises for the hips, knees, and ankles 3 sets of 5 reps of empty barbell snatches, clean and jerks Snatch: 3 sets of 3 reps at 75% of 1RM 2 sets of 2 reps at 80% of 1RM 1 set of 1 rep at 85% of 1RM Clean and Jerk: 3 sets of 3 reps at 75% of 1RM 2 sets of 2 reps at 80% of 1RM 1 set of 1 rep at 85% of 1RM Assistance exercises: 3 sets of 8 reps of back squats at 70% of 1RM 3 sets of 8 reps of strict press at 70% of 1RM 3 sets of 8 reps of pull-ups or chin-ups Cool-down: 5-10 minutes of light cardio Static stretching for major muscle groups Hydration and nutrition to promote recovery Note: The percentages and sets/reps listed here are just a general guideline. Individual factors such as training history, recovery ability, and goals should be taken into account when designing a workout. It's also recommended to consult with a certified strength and conditioning coach for a personalized plan.

My only issue with how chatGPT was used is that very little context or description was given to it to generate the program - I know it wasn't fine tuned for the task of creating workouts but giving it more description with what your trying to achieve might help with it's generating capabilities. Enjoyed the vid though -- its really helpful for someone like myself who does alot of research into how these models perform on real world tasks.
@mattxp3389
@mattxp3389 Жыл бұрын
Based on the workout it generated, it did a pretty good job with the brief prompt. It would be interesting to see it do several weeks of training or an entire training block of programs, and for that, you would need much more of a description of what you're trying to achieve.

I have a friend who asked for a 12 week powerlifting program from chat gpt and then after it gave him one with a 4 volume phase, 4 week strength phase and then 4 week peaking phase he asked for the first 4 weeks to be 4 days a week and the second 4 weeks to be 5 days a week and it made the modifications for him right away.

C&J tripples with 70-80% are very useful for more volume. For example, when training in waves, so tripple, double, single; your topset should be around 80% (3-4 waves with a steady increase in intensity). (Not for a beginner obviously)

The memeing in the intro is a nice touch. Possible topic for a video: How would you go about "off-season" training for a recreational lifter (someone who's not necessarily looking to compete or make it to worlds) in a year to year sense? For the sake of generalization let's say someone who's been weightlifting for a few years and is comfortable with technique.

I asked chatGPT to do a powerlifting program wit a hypertrophy phase, strength phase and peaking. It couldn't do all i asked for at once, like understanding 15 different things i wanted, but it correctly added complexity as I asked for it. What it produced was reasonable but quite generic at first. Then i asked for accessories, rpe instead of percentages and changes in frequency of the lifts only played around for about 10 minutes, but I think you could make it work. I wonder how it would do as a coach if you kept reporting in after every week and do adjustments. It can also create macro plans and complete meal plans.

I’ve been doing a program I had chat GPT make for me for about 3 weeks and so far it’s doing good I guess? Not really sure what to look for but I’ve added about 10lbs to each lift over that time. I think the added weight is also due to other exercises I’ve been doing outside of the program it generated. Extra push ups pull ups and air squats on days the program felt light, along with maybe 4-6 miles of running a week. It is good to have something to follow and have it available for free. I think that it is the main reason I’ve been getting back in shape recently too.

My coach former Canadian National Team Coach always told me and this always resonated with me ZT- if you have 60% of load use 60% effort coming off the floor but 100% of the movement. That helps you control the speed and timing of the lift- what do you think of that?

I would be curious how it does if asked to produce a program where more periodization is involved, like in a week's long program to see how training is organized throughout the week, or a program of a given length in weeks. That way it's not just a single workout in isolation, but to see how ChatGPT does looking at programming training from a broader perspective.
