Cool idea. Looks great and will help keep the bugs out of the a/c condenser fins. I was going to use bug screen.

I followed your video and got it done on my TACOMA TRD SPORT 2023 . Looks fantastic and very inexpensive. It took me like 2 hours but totally worth it. Thank you !

I have to say I've see a whole lot of mods on utube in my time for the SR5 grill. This mod beats them all for originality and price I have to give it to you on this one. Enjoyed the process.....good going brother.

This is definitely a great idea. I know exactly this gutter item. It is powder coated. But once cut, it exposes the metal to the environment but at the price point and the minimum rust on the cut edges it will be negligible. One thing though, I may consider using .035" dia. stainless steel wire from harbor freight versus the plastic ties because once they the ties dry out or are subject to cold they easily snap/break and the worse thing is having the DIY grille cause damage once in motion. Love this mod. Thanks.

Yep. I thought so too when cut but… that bed extender mod I did years back I had trimmed that gutter guard and never had any corrosion. Good idea on the metal zips too. Thx for the feedback.

Also may consider keeping it a one piece instead of cutting two pieces around the emblem. Just cut a hole in the middle.

Used a similar product on a busted grill in an old jeep wagoneer grill 20+ years ago... Pretty awesome hack, FAR cheaper than a new grill!

Radiator and a/c condenser. Evaporator core are inside the cab. That Grill look great though. 👍🏽

that was a tailgate extender with the mesh on the side of your truck I forget what they’re called but where you can leave your tailgate down so you can carry more of a load

I have the same Access Cab SR5 in Silver. Iv came across a few of your vids, all very well done DIY. I cant stand all the Bro's that vid themselves for 8 minutes and the topic for 2 minutes. Iv put a knock off Pro grill in a '16 for $100, it really looks good. But this looks very well done too.

Brother, great idea. I tried it on my 2021 SR5 and couldn’t install it without having that one single bottom mesh stay loose. You mentioned in your video that you will show how you attached/zip tide it but didn’t get to it. Anyway you can make a video with it? Please and thank you!

I had my grill off the other day and easily saw the mounting points you used in your video...did you capture the mounting points for the lower section in video? I think you may have skipped that section...unless I missed it. cool mod.

Yeah. Good idea. I love this look. It’s perfect and not changing the heritage of the OEM look. When these trucks go way up in value in 10 years when the new ones are all turbos etc you’ll wish you keep it oem for maximum nostalgia and dollar value. This can easily be reversed keeping the OEM look in tact.

Fantastic idea. I was about to spend a lot of money on a TRD grill so I can run Raptor lights but now I will look at this mod and see if I can come up with a way to improvise this to accept Led lights. Now where did I put my thinking cap?

I’ve done the mod and so far I’m happy with it. The only thing is now I’m getting bugs stuck in the grill that I’ve got to clean out but I guess that beats them getting stuck in the coolers.

The first few weeks it seems like it caught a lot of bugs. But I bought a pressure, washer and foam gun and it cleans up just fine. I’m very happy with it.
