I’m a straight shooter. I think it’s a great idea if you’re pads are worn down excessively. Can’t hurt them.

Using grouser stock would last longer. Rebar is soft and will wear quickly if you are in rocks.

I would not waste my time welding re bar on tracks. Grouser bar is reasonably priced and if done properly will increase the value of the machine.

these machines are worthless it is a temporary fix for a temporary machine

@@oconeeiceman8998 I wouldn't call these machines worthless. They are being sold for significantly more than they were 20 years ago............and now they are 20 years older with that much more wear and tear on them. I guess it's just another sign of the dollar becoming more worthless.

That’s a great fix for more traction... I’ve got firsthand experience with it... the rebar I might have cut it flush...might find it hangs up on debris if you are around trees in the woods but otherwise it’s great. And actually having more sticks across there decreases the weight on each stick so it’s less traction or you don’t really gain much...we did two for a project and the single middle rebar machine went everywhere the one with two did and just as good or better... we had some 1”... I buy all that kinda metal out of my local scrap yard to save the money... and there’s always a great supply of rebar there! I love picking around at the scrap yard! Absolutely amazing what gets thrown away.

@@kirkpalmer1709 Also the high prices of new and how crappy they are with so much complicated unnecessary tech making them break down and having to pay 150 dollar hour service people to come fix it. And probably high demand for machines as well.
