If they weren't trying to score points, they could have done this exact ride on Living with the Land and not even had to take anything away from that ride. Those awkward projector rooms on Living with the Land could have fit all the story from this ride. But that wasn't the goal. Destroying Splash Mountain was the goal, this ride is an afterthought.

I think Tiana’s Bayou Adventure looks nothing like a ride set in a bayou, a bayou is a swampland that is below sea level and is basically flat land. It probably would’ve been better if the ride theming was replaced by Emperor’s New Groove, because at least there are mountains in Peru.

I have to be brutally honest….that new ride exterior is reminding me of something else and it ain’t broccoli. 😵‍💫

I feel like it had the potentual to be better if it just followed the movies plotline. Use the outside to have a few key moments told with statues, the first turn inside is when they become frogs. Then the whole ride leads to them transforming back after the main drop. Then have a permanent meet and great at the exit, or at least a photo op that leads to the restraunt where she tends to be

Splash Mountain will always be a classic. Tiana's Bayou Adventure is like superstar limo but worse. It might be busy for previews, pixie dusters and summer heat relief. I doubt this will be the E ticket ride that Splash Mountain once was, well got to go to Tokyo Disney Resort to experience the real original Walt Disney magic because none of the US Disney Parks have it anymore.

i'm really bummed about this, honestly. PaTF is one of my favorite disney movies, and this could've been great if they put in the effort...sadly they didn't i don't understand why it has to take place AFTER the story of the movie :/ the actual plot of the movie would've made a great ride. the villain's absence was such a bad idea-- the drop hill would've been so cool if it had been like the shadow man's song sequence the animatronics look great and some of the scenes are kinda cool, like the one where you get shrunk-- but it's such a nothingburger of a ride. these characters deserve better

We thought we would go on this ride at least once when the queue would be 20 minutes or under. After seeing all these ride POV's, we will be passing by it to ride Big Thunder or the Train. The salt mine walk through at the beginning also makes me uncomfortable 😐🫣

I always said that the retheme could make sense for Disneyland since the ride is adjacent to New Orleans Square. But the Magic Kingdom version doesn't make any sense as it's located in Frontierland, which is themed to the Wild West, and Princess and the Frog is set in 1920's Louisiana.

How awesome is it that Disney Imagineering used the salt mines of Avery Island, Louisiana, used during the Civil War, to create the entrance to the ride, so exciting to ponder the fate of up to 500 black slaves at a time while they toiled and were tortured during the Civil War (See Rice University - Avery Island for further details) covered in infected open sores from the salt, chained at the ankles and to each other and knowing they died in agony while you wait in the entrance to the ride. How brilliant of Disney to use a well documented place of heinous abuse of black people for a family ride!!! Imagine the merchandise that can be created and sold (especially for the Halloween nights) honoring certainly some the worst treatment of blacks in American History!!! Just keep in mine for those who don't appreciate beautiful fun Imagineering, for the squeamish, Disney has put up a sign on Tiana's Bayou stating "Salt Mines - Reserved - For Seasoned Veterans", meaning the tortured slaves.

Dr facilier isn't in the ride because HE'S DEAD

I looked it up and the reason that Dr. Facilier was axed from the ride was because Imagineer Carman Smith said he and his association with voodoo was considered "culturally insensitive" to depict. In the Disney Parks Blog, Mama Odie is even referred to as the "Bayou Fairy Godmother" despite actually being called the "Voodoo Queen of the Bayou" in the film. But the thing is, voodoo is and has been part of New Orleans culture (free and enslaved) so ignoring it is the true cultural insensitivity. The Imagineering team claimed they wanted the ride to be authentic to New Orleans while wanting it to be culturally sensitive, but you can't have it both ways.

David here I been a Disneyland fan and collector for over fifty years and I have watched this video 2 times and my conclusion is this, this attraction was made for young fans of the movie. They didn’t want to make it too scary so they could sell more dolls and plush toys. I say bring back country Bears jamboree to possibly DCA. 😊

The original splash mountain animatronics were nearly entirely stripped from the country bear jamboree, so in a sense the original was more cheap. Also the story takes places when she has her restaurant, after the villain literally died lmao. Literally hasn’t even officially been opened, give it some time jeez (Edit: Reminded that the animatronics were taken from the America Sings show, thanks yall! point still stands tho lol)

I love it more bombastic more festive more fun, the animatronics are better than i expected, and the screens show characters that look like they stepped out of disney jr, i think it is better than splash mountain I LIKE IT I LOVE IT F YOU WHO TALK S ABOUT IT THAT RIDE HAS SOME ZANG TO IT

Sad how ppl r going n on this ride. It is just ride n character. N I feel if this was for a white character it wouldn't be any of this smh. The ride is beautiful and fun. However I wish Tiana had another ride maybe such as Snow bc I don't like drops or heights bc I will ride it all day. But the hate n this ride us unreal n not needed smh. It really sad. Some things here I can totally understand, like the storyline needing a sense of danger and an antagonist, but a lot of your complaints are rather cringe and picky. I'm just happy I'm not that critical about every little thing. Your kind of mindset must be mentally exhausting.

I feel like the problem is that they rushed to make the ride to quick they should have taken more time making Tiana’s buyou adventure.
