I used this same tool (although it is the #808) to reset the air bag light on my 2004 X5 after swapping out the front seats. The code it "threw" was '10' '70' which in the manual is table 40, & '70' refers to the passenger seat sensor mat. Be patient, as it took no less than six tries to reset the light. As he says wait til it stops flashing, and it should stay off. Best $20 I ever spent, although there was that night in Vegas!😂

I purchased this tool after Autozone told me they didn't have the right device to do it there. I used it on my 97 BMW Z3 and it worked like a champ. As the video shows, the manual is pretty much written in broken English., but you can get through it. It did not work to clear the airbag light when I plugged it into the port that is inside the car, on the passenger side. I then plugged it into the port located on the engine.....they include the engine plug in as well. In 5 secs, the code was cleared just as the manual showed. Best $22 I've ever spent! BTW, I doubt the air bags are faulty, as I checked the wiring under the seat and it all looked good. I did use electrical cleaner spray on the contacts that are located on the left side of each seat. Just carefully unplug the cap and spray. Not sure if it was necessary or part of the problem, but it was suggested on a BMW forum.

Ed, thank you for sharing your experience here. It is a tricky tool to use, but does work once you learn how to get it to work (and its quirks). I've since moved onto a C310+ scan tool which is about $60 on Amazon. It is amazing and gets into all of the BMW systems: airbag, srs, abs, transmission, engine, modules and on board systems. Definitely recommend that one now!

For the Z3 you have to plug it in under the hood not inside the car

This is just for the SRS airbag system! Seatbelt sensor, seat occupancy mat, driver and passenger airbags, seat belt tensioner, the list goes on (of common errors experienced with these cars) . For all other codes or an all-in-one I'd recommend this one: amzn.to/2kiz95L

Do you know what Code 00 is? I keep getting 00, 05, which I know is the airbag but I'm not sure and it won't reset.

I got the same code and did the clearing process light comes back on after the blinking part shortly after staying off for a few secs

It should do the trick. It can take several attempts to get it to cooperate so give it many chances and be patient! There are better scanners now but they’re 3X the price.

Update: it works! But, i need to check the left curtain airbag module because the connection most likely needs to be cleaned or the module replaced.

I have an OBD 1 318ti. I swapped seats and now I've got an airbag light. Do you happen to know how to deal with OBD 1 lights?

hey Phil, I forgot to mention this B800 comes with the OBD 1 adapter (round port) plug as well. Haven't reset one of those in many years though!

jahvana HSKT leah I am recommending the creator c310+ about $50 on amazon these days much better than this tool. Check my videos for a talk about various scan tools

Mine did the exact same thing! I was going to return it, but it cost more to ship it back to China than the tool cost...big waste of 20 bucks
