A quick, late night, unboxing and first look at a cheap Amazon bought LANC controller to see if it's any good and if it works with the Panasonic AG-CX350.

Thanks for your review I have been using this brand & the Libec remote as well I bought my first remote was quite expensive about $100 & cheaper ones on eBay for about $20each for my other Panasonic AG AC160 camcorders that I have for at least 7 years & never had a problem., The rocker potentiometer in your zoom control will last you for many years its very simple & is spring loaded to return the potentiometer to the centre position, If you ever get hold of an Sony or Canon camcorder by moving the slide switch from P to S you can control a Sony or Canon Camcorders as well. The Panasonic side is just using the variable resistance, where the Sony & Canon is true Lanc that produces data to control the lens, There are many brands of controllers for camcorders & the cheapest ones work the same as the expensive ones.

@@asquaddie Yes. Works without problems. The cabel is connected to the front on the controller, not the side, and the switch is in forwar position (if you consider the zoom rocker as back of the controller). I believe the side connector will be used if you have an older Panasonic camcorder with two controller connectors. The switch must be in the back position then.

@@asquaddie Yes cx350. As far as I remember I didn't have to change the setup. I don't have the camera near so I can't chek but will remember it worked without any change.

Great review...Do you know if I could get a lanc to miniport adaptor for this as my camcorder doesnt have lanc. I have looked everywhere but cant seem to get one...Many thanks...

What's the general lag like on a Lanc these day? Haven't used one in about 10 years.

Comparing the photos on Aliexpress with your video, I bought a LANC for 12$. Works well with the Panasonic AG-CX350.

I use the Libec ZC-LP more money but bullet proof build and reliability.

Many thanks for the review. I do have one, but only the rec function works. I understand you must use the side socket, but do you have to change any settings in the CX350 menu please? Or is my unit faulty!!

@@mxlwebs It appears my unit was faulty so I returned it back to Amazon. (in fact, they told me to just bin it and refunded me still)

Ordered EXACTLY what is pictured in the video from Amazon, it doesn't work. However, it will operate the zoom on my AG-PX270. Maybe the new firmware update messed it up?

Just bought an HC-X2000 and my trusty LANC controller (not the model trialled here) that's still working a dream on my HX-1 does not work on the 2000. So I was suspecting a dud camera, but now it sounds like it could be a firmware fault. I have the latest firmware Ver 1.4 installed.
