The issue is repair costs. Parts will be way more and labor intensive since it’s mid engine. Good luck with anyone who decides to pick one up, learned my lesson the hard way buying an S6.

Remember when I bought my first 911 Carrara 4 used. It was a one owner. Blew a head gasket first week and some check engine lights came on before that the dealership quoted me 6000k to fix. See, if you can’t afford a super car you can’t afford a used one either as these vehicles are out of warranty and the repairs will easily exceed any payment on a brand new one. Better to go with a hellcat or domestic new

Im 30 years old and i think i do pretty well for myself. $45k is still a lot of money and most bank wont finance a vehicle above the 10 year old mark, so these cars are still out of reach for the average person.

Older R8's had a fall from grace due to serious cracks near the top of the front strut housings (Left or right and sometimes both). DO NOT Buy one without having this area inspected. Do your research.

Just wait a couple years and pick up a used C8 Vette. It truly looks exotic and will be easily picked up for about $30K for used C8 base models. When the Z06 and ZR1 versions of the C8 come out, a lot of base model C8 will flood the market. Just imagine driving a C8 Vette (relatively still pretty new with minimal miles) for the price of a new Civic. I'd mention the C7 Vette, just because its such a great performance deal right now, but I wouldn't put it in the exotic category despite it's excellent performance (ZO6 C7 Vette can embarrass a lot of "super cars" on a race track).

Remember it's not all about the price of the car, but the price of ownership. Even if you can afford a highly depreciated super car, that doesn't inherently mean you can afford to properly maintain and fix it.

so for anyone wondering why some of these cars are "cheap" i have a pretty decent explanation. many high end lixury/supercars have an extremely low resale value, especially the ones owned by all the companies associated with VW. (audi, lamborgini, etc.). This is because while brand new, they are generally great cars, most of them rarely last even to 80k miles without having massive engine problems. now generally if you can afford to buy one you can afford to keep up on the repairs, but if you are in the market for a nice looking car and you happen to find a cheap supercar like the ones mentioned in the video, STAY AWAY!!!!!!! any repairs you will have to deal with are going to be WAY out of your price range. stick to toyota. the new camry TRD is under 32k and has amazing daily capabilities while still putting 300+ hp the the front wheels.

Not just the VAG cars. Pretty much all European cars have this issue. Their value drops like a stone as soon as they get more than 4-5 years old or with more than 80,000 miles. They start to fall apart and have major mechanical issues, and they get cheap because nobody wants to be around when they break. It's why you can find a 10 year old AMG for the price of a used Ford Focus.

Cameron Smith no he is right I bought an 07 bmw 328i 3 years ago. It had 86k miles and was 9 grand. I have so far put 16k miles on it and have had 3 different cylinders misfire, had to replace the starter, and the entire cooling system. The total for repairs was about 4.5k over those 3 years, all under 100k miles.

@@BlueLightning I had a totally different experience when I bought my 2011 bmw 328xi. It had 76k miles when I bought it 2 years ago and I've put 32k miles on it. The only issues I had were a oil filter housing gasket leak and a vanos solenoid went bad, both rectified pretty quickly. I also did a fair but of maintenance like spark plugs, belt, ect. I think I've spend about 6-700 in maintenance and whatnot in 2 years of ownership.

Not a bad video, but its kinda funny how much "heavier" stock vehicles out perform these cars with ease, however they were built in different markets so it makes sense.

60k euros for first car (2013), over 100k for V10 and 2017 52k for the 977 turbo 70k+ for the ferrari..... 65k for nissan gt-r 77k+ for lambo (382kw version) It would take over 3 years of my nation average monthly salary to afford even the cheapest one... HOW ARE THESE "CHEAP" ????

I wrecked my 2008 Audi A8 when i spun out on the ice & hit the wall at 140mph! Walked away without a scratch but car was totaled!

Interesting I'm not surprised since the most depreciating asset class are vehicles, it definitely wont stop ne from owning an r8 a few years from now. Especially with all the investing I'm currently doing. And the funny thing is I sometimes catch myself thinking when I have the money to own one (i currently can buy one but it would be stupid to do so) Would i even spend it on a car i love or spend it on different experiences? 🤔

To be honest for supercars you can afford if you have the mechanical know how a lot of the fords from the late 80s-90s have the space under the hood for a much bigger powerplant. Something akin to a 5liter supercharged jag motor. So looks like a Taurus goes like a rocket.

Alan Harper no R8 has convertible. I checked the prices. I’m not getting an R8. The mid engine car I can afford is an MR-2. Maybe an X1/9.

damn they didnt realize you were expecting supercars to cost 15k. these cars are still relatively affordable. A lot of people can afford the payments on a 30-40k car depending on the rates they will get from their lender of choice and I did see some examples in that price range on here.

No car is immune from the abuse the owner applies to it. Without on-time, proper, maintenance and repairs, it's only matter of time before a car breaks down early on, and will be very expensive to repair.

The Royal Crowned Tiger agreed however the early transmissions were poorly designed and Nissan was even sued because of it. I think there’s more to it than the customers abused the car.

Other cars Idk but for the 2007 997 turbo~ you need roughly twice of 37k to get one in good condition and average mileage.
