Andy, i have a couple of that said tool to crimp those terminals. I dont need 3 sets, and i'd like to donate one to you. Please let me know if you'd like them. The tool is practically brand new.

Normally I'd've considered drilling into the dash with a hole saw and wiring it to a random bolt sacrilege. But old age has put more holes into that pickup than you'll ever be able Andy, so give 'er the chooch and let 'er wobble😂 It's gonna be mint👌

lol, all you need to make a solid batter cable (that you can even take off and remove)is take the eyelet that connects to the battery terminal, heat up some solder and put it in where the cable slips into, jam your cable in and wait for it to cool.. when you want to reuse the terminal, just heat it up and it’ll slide right off

It's not the size of the cable it's how you use it. Well to be honest, sometimes it is! As always I love you and you still need a Skid Steer! Just give Carlos a pony I know someone who's giving away free! The pony not the skid steer.

And a quarter inch drift. Way we did it. Smash it as hard as you can with pliers, set it on the bumper, set the drift and smack it with the hammer. End up with a nice looking dimple.

Hey Andy! To back up your ligic, with just a bigger battery, the only wire you need to pay attention to is the pisitive lead from the batteries to distribution. With a larger alternator, you also need to upgrade the wire from the new alternator to the system to handle the additional charging current. Larger alternator + larger wire + the larger battery also needed anyhow = lotsabucks!

I would upgrade to a newer cs130 alternator Andy. You have an old style 60 amp, and charging at 13.5 or so. A newer mid to late 90s stock alt for GM trucks is what you want. Charges 105 amps at 14v And run a bigger charging wire. Use the same size as the battery cables It’s not very hard at all

Happy Turkey Day Andy. Always enjoy your videos. Especially when it delays my going in to clean up after the feast. Yes I know I have to go in before the wife starts yelling (otherwise I'm sleeping on the couch tonight). But had to say thank you for all that you do.

Love your videos Andy! Always learning something! Just a quick tip to tag along... anytime you need to crimp something big (battery cables, aluminum cable stays, etc) just use a chisel and hammer with an anvil of sorts. Give it a few good smacks in a couple spots. Holds better than channel locks

Andy, Just a dull wide punch is all the actual tool really is, also some guys like to put the connector in the vice and melt some soldier into the cup then just drop the lead into it.

Is there plans on putting a bigger alternator in the future? The battery is a good choice being as batteries are always in short supply. Don't want to kill those batteries since if 1 dies, it will kill the other on its way out.

FYI electricity does not flow down a wire, it flows down the outside surface of the wire. so the larger the wire the more surface area to allow the electricity to flow. It doesn't matter how many wires are in the cable. 6 strands or 60 strands the surface is around the same if the gauge is the same.

That's not correct for DC, but only for alternating current, and even then only above about 1 megahertz. Look up "skin effect" on Wikipedia.

C'mon man, you bought the extra battery because an extra battery will fit and start all kinds of other needy equipment. An alternator won't. I love your "based" video's as the kids would say.
