Thanks for making this informative video series. I had a check engine light come on in my 2012 chvey volt, turned out to be a sensor in the wheel bearing that had failed, used a 3rd party ODB II and my phone to read the code and start the diagnosis, brought it to the dealer to have them replace the bearing (little out of my DIY league)

What type of grease is that you are using? because in the past I have used copper grease for everything but the guide pins as apparently this is not a good idea and cause the pins to gum up and become more sticky rather than free.

very good insight but, it is still not very clear as to what makes the check engine light NOT to illuminate at all. can share on that regard, i have seen it on several occasions and most including me are still clueless on the same.

Great videos by the way. I have a question about my 84000 mile 2009 Suzuki Swift which had an engine light come on and it was found to be the crank position sensor. The garage duly fitted a new one but after about 15 miles the engine light came on again and so I returned to the garage who plugged in the diagnostic tool and removed the engine light. Again after several miles the engine light came back on again but what is the actual fault because the car is running really nicely? It did state on the diagnostic tool that it had something to do with the catalytic convertor but what could that be?

Hi there! My name is Edith and my husband and I are having a bit of a fight. We have a 2007 Chevy Cobalt with approx. 82,500 miles on it. We live in Southeast Texas and when the weather gets around 45 degrees we have noticed (or should I say I have OBSESSED) that our "check engine light" has come on twice within 3 weeks. We had the dude @O'Reilly put it on a monitor and it read "Throttle Position Sensor" and he told us that is was pretty much my husband having a lead foot while trying to pass someone in this cold weather. (To us it's cold weather, to people in Michigan is bikini weather). I want to take it to our mechanic...he wants to take me to a mental facility. What do you recommend?
