Recipe: Creamy Beef and Noodle Casserole
Ingredients:
12 oz egg noodles
3 oz cream cheese
1 cup sour cream
Salt to taste
5 green onions, chopped
1 lb lean ground beef
2 cans diced tomatoes
2 oz double-concentrated tomato paste
1 teaspoon anchovy paste
2 teaspoons kosher salt
2 teaspoons black pepper
2 teaspoons dried thyme
2 teaspoons dried basil
2 teaspoons dried oregano
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
Instructions:
Cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain.
In a large bowl, mix hot noodles with cream cheese, sour cream, and salt.
Add chopped green onions to the noodle mixture.
In a skillet, brown lean ground beef over medium heat. Do not drain.
In the skillet with ground beef, add diced tomatoes, tomato paste, anchovy paste, kosher salt, black pepper, dried thyme, dried basil, dried oregano, and garlic powder. Simmer for 5-10 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a greased baking dish, layer half of the noodle mixture.
Spoon half of the ground beef-tomato mixture over the noodles.
Sprinkle half of each shredded cheese over the beef layer.
Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let it sit for 10-15 minutes before serving for a cohesive texture.
