I'm 59 years old I've probably had health anxiety for most of that time. My therapist , gave me a very similar strategy to the way you cope with your anxiety. I also look at it as playing chess against yourself. I really admire the way you're dealing with your anxiety the way you come to terms with the thought that it will probably never go.,, you found a way of reprogramming some of those negative thoughts and keeping Heather in a box, Xxx

Thank you for sharing your experience. My health anxiety has been stemmed from emetophobia. Now through the pandemic, my health anxiety fears covid, flu etc. The basic illnesses. Pre-covid I’d take cold medicine and move on. Now I fear it. I want to play around with distancing my anxiety.

I thought I had a form of health anxiety, turns out after a couple of therapy sessions, I was also diagnosed from a form of PTSD (caused by watching my dad get sicker and passing away from his illness) as well as depression, people make me feel ashamed of it, because they look at me like I'm crazy. I always convince myself I'm sick with a type of cancer, I'm co.stsnyky checking my body, and bodily fluids for abnormalities. Something as simple as seasonal allergies gives me anxiety spikes, but therapy has been helping a lot.

Your videos help me so much. Ive been going through benzo withdrawal/ tapering for the past year and it's caused my blood pressure too be out of this world. Which of course my health anxiety has made me completely obsessed with my high blood pressure spikes and the damage it is doing too me. If it's not one thing too worry about it's another!

I was at my lowest point once. Thank God I found your youtube channel. You have help me tremendously, I totally relate to you as now I feel as I manage it pretty good.

A lot of things you mentioned in your video was so on point . I think I’ve had every symptom . My family are worried but I manage to cope better than 6 months ago with the help of CBT therapy and a well informed health and well-being coach. It’s so difficult to imagine how easy breezy thoughts would be before health anxiety. Sometimes I feel I’ve recovered but over the last week I realise I haven’t as having cold / flu symptoms and completely exhausted. I’m convinced I’m not ok. It’s a real set back and wish I could fully accept x

I love that you have Heather, I will talk to my therapist about that, I think it is amazing to not let anxiety define you, because a lot of time, I wonder if this is just me and my personality or anxiety shouting at me.

Lots of wisdom here. From my studies in psychology it is also very sound. I definitely have things to share about these thoughts in our next coaching session. I enjoyed .

It's honestly awful. I've been off work for a month and have convinced myself I can't breath 24/7 in August it was a brain tumour 🙄

Spot on 👍the more you think about the worse case scenario the worse it gets to a point your in bed waking up tired I found the more I did to keep myself busy the easier it got as I'm not thinking about it but it takes time it comes and goes with me now but the fact I seen the improvement I focused on that as a positive and you build on that positive ill have bad dreams some days and that sets it off but I don't look at it the same way as i use to look at it hope that helps

ty for this, currently struggling with health anxiety myself atm and it is hard but I'm trying to cope, trying to hide it from the wife which is hard can't lie. I liked that you called the anxiety a name, might have to give mine a name so I can distance myself from the anxiety :)))) have an amazing day

Omg I have double calf twitching since august 2021 24/7. Sometimes it’s calmer and sometimes it goes nuts. Feet feel like an electrical storm when I go to bed sometimes. Anxiety is super high

Same Robert I'm laying in bed now with a twitchy calf now it comes on for a few weeks then goes. Such a nightmare. Nope you're good

I love your videos. I suffer with this issue . Right now I have a battle with going to the Dr when I always would rush to go . Even with taking blood work . I check my body several times a day . I just need relief 😪. And Google is a nightmare . Any tips?

I tried quite a few! Sertraline which is an SSRI was okay and then I was temporarily on Diazepam too. For me personally, none of them were THAT great. They helped to take the edge off a little bit though. Everyone responds so differently to them!
