Honestly think, on his day, Aman is one of the most tactically astute non-super GMs i've seen

Really? Cause I see a lot more non super GMs who plays at least twice as better than him. Hans Niemann, Eric Hansen, to name a couple. I mean, he got 6 points out of 11 facing IMs, FMs, a CM, and a couple GMs. He's not even a main player for their own team on that one Saint Louis tournament, they preferred an IM to play instead of him last time. I mean, Im not a GM, or even a titled player. But to say that he's one of the best players tactically outside of super GMs is quite a stretch. Honestly think.

he doesn't really go in for the most competitive events though, definitely GM strength but not above and beyond by any means. look at who he's playing against here, you'd expect a good GM to beat most/all.

He said it as clearly as possible. One of the Titled Tuesday games has to be non-competitive, as in not trying so hard. You get to pick which game you don't play competitively in and that was the one he chose to play horribly/non-competitively on. Hope this clears things up. :)

It can but the whole point of moves like g4 is to sac the pawn to get a half opened file for your rook. Once the rook gets to g1 the king is fucked
