Also, the grove in the pan where the gasket sits has a film, you think the gasket will seal properly? 26psi you hit the mark with your impact.

Was wondering when the instructions say wait an hour before torquing you can pass that step?? Also to wait 24 hours before adding oil? You wonder why they leak?

Do you know why the two rear pan bolts under the rubber plugs would be security bits. Or need a secirity bit? 3mm bit to large and 2.5mm to small.

Pan bolts are 18ft/lbs. tighten center out in circular pattern. Trans to oil pan bolts are 37ft/lbs.

I just looked at a 2011 4.3 to maybe buy and it looks like the rear main seal was leaking pretty good plus carfax report shows most oil changes were 8-10k apart which is not good on SAE oil surprised truck had 208k on it and still ran good but was under powered for it's era at only 200 horsepower.

@dev894 go for it. Bring it to me when the engine is crap. I run 5k on synthetic oil. Oil changes are cheaper than engines

@@dev894 I hate that manufacturers did the oil life thing. I’ve replaced so many engines because people followed what the car said. Almost all oil is some form of synthetic and can easily handle 5000 miles or 6 months which is what I tell people. The ones that go by my sticker have had almost 0 issues. My fleet guys have 400k plus on vans and trucks with original engines and transmissions. Just irritates me that people are told to follow something that’s gonna cost them big down the road.

When I add the gasket to my cart on any site it says it won’t fit my 2015 Silverado 4.3l V6? And I cant find the gasket for my truck anywhere! I’m curious as to why this one wouldn’t fit? Or do you know the part# I’m looking for? Thanks!!!

2015 is going to be rtv. There is not an actual gasket. There is going to be 3 seals you’ll need inside the pan. One oblong for the pickup and 2 round that are near the cooler lines area.
