This will be the final video on Equinox. A Compression test inspected injectors and replaced one. did nothing. I believe this vehicle has valve issues. It will be junked.

I sure could use the portion of the video that shows removing the cover. I'm having a misfire in 1. I've replaced plugs and wires and my MAP sensor. Everything has improved the truck, but not fixed the misfire. I used a timing light to check the injectors. Each cylinder flickered. At this point it struggles and fails at times to idle after start up. Could it be a bad injector in cylinder 1 or a compression issue?

These cars are known for getting loose valve guides which causes the valve to wonder and no seat correctly causing misfire especially at idle. Pushrod issues. Burnt exhuast valve. So many potentials. Maybe a bad injector.

Hey bro... I'm still watching but the drop in gauge pressure is only equipment variable, the valve core isn't perfect in holding pressure. One thing you could try is, get the intake valve closed, pour water down suspected cylinder and take a boresccope to see if water entering cylinder. If it's water tight, it's air tight! I got my money on a pitted or damaged valve, the valve will rotate hitting a sweet spot. In all fairness this is the only video I watched, misfire graph info would be cool to see with with fuel trim maybe.

Yeah. I agree. I know this vehicle is known for bad valve seals causing noise and a loose valve. Spark plugs have oil on them. There even a factory bulletin about noise from bad valve seals(seats) this car had it and once it started miss firing. the noise went away. I think it has a bad valve but this vehicle isn't worth the time or cost knowing the issues these motors and are known for and this vehicle being a family members. It also has other issues. There is 1 used motor available in my entire province doesn't give me much confidence replacing it with another possible problem motor. The problem with the water is all.thr seals you need to replace to get to the intake gallery lol. Isn't worth the cost of the car in my opinion. The project in the garage now is worth a motor and more. Hopefully I'll have content on that soon.
