In a move that has electrified (or perhaps frustrated) the auto market, Chevrolet has unveiled an attractive discount aimed squarely at Tesla owners. This $4,000 incentive beckons these drivers to "defect" to GM and trade in their sleek electric sedans for the all-new Chevy Blazer EV.

I agree with the question, why not pass the savings on to a truck power house, I see people all the time say they want to get rid of the gas guzzler, but to pouch another electric vehicle, the only thing Chevy has for the electric vehicles is the big batteries to give more miles on the battery. But to compare it to an electric vehicle that has almost the same power and hauling, that blazer doesn't compare. Yeah it's nice all the features but the 30x rolled steal vs a smaller suv that doesn't come close for towing capacity, doesn't compare, they should change their approach on it.

I would trade for Chevy’s diesel truck but I do not have any interest in GMs EV

Valid point. Chevy's Duramax diesel trucks are legendary for their towing power and durability. If frequent hauling is a big part of your truck needs, then an EV might not be the best fit at this time. However, keep an eye on the evolving electric truck market. There are some exciting options coming down the pipeline, including electric versions of the Silverado and Ford F-150.

Yes, carmakers are making more money from ICE vehicles than from EVs, but I think that will change soon.
