Here is the link to the polishing gear the 80 grit none brand name are best for stripping. The Brand names are Dedeco and 3M those are for knife finishes don't waste those on handles. Get the cheap one for wood handles and rust removal. www.amazon.com/shop/alexandri...
Here is the link to the finishes I like most I just did a Amazon review for Tried and True Varnish Oil great stuff. www.amazon.com/shop/alexandri...
(If you use one of the affiliate links above or on my website I may receive a small commission it does not increase your cost and helps me make more videos and do product test and produce more content.)Thank you for using them! If you decide to purchase something it's a great way to show support for my channel. I do purchase all the items in my videos myself. I am not sponsored by any products , or companies so all my reviews are truly my own opinion of the products you see me using in my business)

What a great tip! I have hated finishing the handles because of the gummy sandpaper issue...an awful task. Now you have me excited again. I absolutely love the Tried & True finish on the Chicago Cutlery handles. Now it won't be such a drag doing them. Thank you Paul, I'm headed to your Amazon Page to get the discs!

Have you tried STERATED SAND PAPER, also called nofil sand paper, It has a white colour, and has a filler powder, that stops clogging.

I have learned a great deal from you. Thank you. I would really enjoy seeing you demonstrate the use of the 6 inch leather stropping wheel vs the paper wheel you have mounted to the same machine in your shop. I am finding that the technique and angles are different for each. I have also found that different edges work better on one than the other. Your insight would be greatly appreciated.

I always look forward to seeing your next demonstration. I have changed several of my techniques since I found your channel. To compare and contrast the leather versus the paper wheel would be interesting. The dressing, pressure applied and angle seems to matter. Also, is one better than the other for super steels. I also use a 1x42 leather on some blades. Thank you.

I got the opavioc jewelry polisher, and really like it. It's small, quiet, smooth and has a great variable speed range. I have not been able to find any off brand radial abrasive disks that are larger than 1" however. Does anyone have a link to off brand radial abrasive disks that are 2-3"? 3" would be best, and 6 ply would be ideal, though I understand simply stacking them on the polisher is an option. Thanks!

@@ALXSHARPEN thanks for the reply, that's too bad. I can't see the 1" versions working on the bench polisher, not enough clearance. I'll let you know if I find anything suitable.

Great explanation of the supplies section and thanks for the tips on the knife handles! Where do you get extra cotton buffing wheels for your jewelry polisher from? Im having a hard time finding them in 1/4" arbor holes like the ones that come with the Opavioc. Will 1/2" arbor hole buffing wheels work? Thanks and really appreciate your videos and help!
