Such a gorgeous book - each shed is unique and inspiring, and I love all the tiny details Kotite features to help readers imagine how to create their own She Sheds kzfaq.infoUgkxe9yi0sulKgsp0VJJCIrLWWkvVqcU7LFR . The feature on Dinah's Rustic Retreat is like something from a fairy tale. It's really inspiring to see how creative all these ordinary people are in making beautiful and useful spaces on a modest scale.

You did a fantastic job. Thank you for the video. I would suggest something: if you put cinderblocks all around the run and fill the holes with soil to plant flowers & vegetables for the chickens they will LOOOVEEE it. Plus the cinder blocks will prevent animals to try to dig under as well.

When I was 12 a friend built a barn and he said my job was goffor, go for this go for that. Mainly it was just packing beer to him and his brothers. Made $20 a week, thought I was rich. He had me paint the entire barn with used motor oil because they had banned krisole. I’m 52 now and that barn is as good as the day the last nail was drove in it.

Not quite sure why it's necessary to bury posts 3ft into the ground? Level out the ground, use some pavers to elevate the boards off the ground and predator-proof the perimeter with hardware cloth. If you don't want it to move drill a couple holes and drive several 2-3ft pieces of rebar should hold it.

yw, just noticed that you do have a heavy gauge wire inside the window. Are you in an area that gets very much snow? I am in an area that gets snow and the Avery netting would get too heavy with snow and break/bend. My brother built a pen using chain link fencing with supports. Poultry netting on the ground rusts and deteriorates here. I used the same hardware cloth for my walls of my pen enclosure. I am not sure how strong poultry netting will work for the roof. I like your structure u built with the strong gate. Good job! I am thinking of rebuilding my pen structure similar to how you did yours, but It is twice the size. Will probably use chain link fencing for the roof to keep out predators from the sky....

REALLY NICE! However, you should have laid down galvanized and coated deer-fencing down on the ground to at least 2 feet outside the fence. That way predators wouldn’t be able to dig under the fence..... I see what you did with the hardware cloth. I supposed that would work, I would just feel more comfortable if it extended all the way across the interior under the run.... Regardless, Very Nice!

Just found your channel, one question: where you left that loose chicken wire on top to unlatch the window aren't you afraid of raccoons getting under it and eating your chickens. Larry

Yes, I have to redesign that part for sure. 🙂

Why so deep? Seems 2' would be good.

tom mac I probably could have gotten away with two feet on the chicken run but not on a fence. I just don't want the posts to move.

Love the design. If it were me, no offense, I might would add hardware cloth on top just because I've heard of several stories of raccoons ripping through chicken wire. Have a blessed day. JESUS CHRIST loves you. 🙏❤

True hardware cloth is stronger. If I see any signs of a predator, I'll definitely put the hardware cloth on the top. Thanks and God bless.

Awesome build. I would say keep an eye on the gate for sagging as the diagonal support is in the opposite direction. I’ll definitely be using this as a reference for ours this spring. Thanks!
