Chicken Steak with Gravy in 30 Minutes - Super Delicious

Chicken steak with gravy is simply delicious. Most recipes are a made with pork or beef, and it is sometimes called country fired steak or chicken fried steak. I could never figure this out in terms of why it is call chicken steak. In light of this, I decided to do it with real chicken, and it turned out simply great. Combined with the gravy, your dinner guests and family will love it.
In this recipe, we do not remove the tenderloins as they add more flavor and make the breast bigger, but you can do so if you like. Be sure not to pound them out too much, or they will fry too fast and perhaps burn.
I like mushrooms in the gravy, but this is totally optional. You can add the spices of your choice as well.
Give them a try and let us know what you think. I'm sure you will enjoy them.

I add dried spices to my flour dredge: garlic powder, onion powder, sweet paprika and cayenne. Then i use the same left over flour for the gravy. Chicken fried chicken is the best.

Another nice video Dave, I would say try adding your stock to the mushes first then mix flour with a little water before adding to the stock....less likely to get any lumps. It's a great recipe and mixing in some mild spices to the chicken crumb flour works very well too. Happy cooking.

I'm way late to the game, but fried beef is called chicken fried steak because it is breaded like fried chicken, so it's chicken-fried steak. I think it's a southern thing but I'm not sure. It's popular here in NC. You just made chicken-fried chicken. Makes a nice sandwich too! Good job!

Hi Dave, I would have to say that my favorite meat is beef, but chicken fried chicken Is my favorite way of having chicken so beef takes 2nd place this time.!! And I never thought to drain off the used oil but keep the fond to help flavor my gravy, that's an excellent, flavor adding technique.😋👏
