Thank you Ian. You always give the best. Kindly, what are the symptoms of Mareks? What happens when you vaccinate local indegeneous chicks on day one for mareks?

Thank you Beatrice. Symptoms of Marek's are exhibited when the chicken is ABOVE 4.5 Months old and the only symptom is that the chicken gets paralysis of the legs and wings and is unable to walk and is immobilised. To prevent this disease vaccination for Marek's should be done at Day old as recommended.

What would happen to the chicks when they font get vaccinated fully as expected? Some farmers told me that if you give your chicks the medication to prevent the disease that you would rather vaccinate, that's enough. Is this true?

When chicks don't get vaccinated they remain susceptible to the disease as their immunity is low. Chances of mortality from a particular disease are also high for unvaccinated chicks compared to vaccinated ones. Viral diseases have no treatment. Wilson, best practices dictate that you should consult a veterinary officer whenever you need to do a vaccination program. That said, they are your chicken and no one prevents you from practising whatever you want on them 😊
