We have 6 under strength Infantry battalions. We have no offensive drones. We have no SPA. We have no missiles. We have no medium lift capability. WE are 20 years behind the 8 ball. We need this now not in 10 years.

First Australian-made AS9 Huntsman 155mm SPA ETA is end of 2025. HIMARS rocket artillery first system deliveries begin March 2025. First deliveries of AS21 Redback IFVs are due first half of 2027. Royal Australian Artillery Air Defence has already begun taking deliveries of the NASAMS3 Surface to Air missile system with test firings begun a few months ago. We’re getting there. But you’re spot on about the under sized battalions. Needs to be brought back to 4x rifle companies plus support and admin company per battalion. We need 12x regular infantry battalions. We had 9x in 1970 when our population was only 12 million people. With our population more than double the size there’s something wrong when we can’t fully man our fighting units.

So you think the French foreign legion aren't professional? Or the Gurkhas There are so many lateral transfers already in our own, so what's the difference? There are thousands of Pacific islanders in British Army ranks, and they are by large excellent soldiers. What's wrong with recruiting them for our own force, particularly when we want to forge closer bonds with the region?

It actually makes me angry hearing about the army's recruitment issues. I tried joining the ADF twice about 15 years ago at ages 17 and 23, and both times I got knocked back with no reason given. I wanted to serve but wasn't allowed the opportunity. However, in the end it might have been a blessing because my cousin served for about 7 years and got out and he said that it wasn't at all what it was cracked up to be.

I think the greatest single ally we have is the zero land border with any other country. From my very happy to declare uneducated, zero-time in the ADF viewpoint, the Navy should be our strongest force (new nuclear subs.... best decision ever) followed shoulder to shoulder by our air capability. If the Army is in a shooting war on Australian soil, a hell of a lot of things have gone badly wrong and Australian sovereignty stands in the balance. The Russian war in Ukraine shows the stark reality of current day warfare, how can all Australian forces handle that unthinkable situation?

The directions of Australia's ADF have been made. As good as the new submarines are, I believe Australia needs to triple the number of full-time soldiers. When war breaks out and conscription starts, Australia will not have time for training the civilian population to do anything. It will be a meat grinder.

You'll find that this chief of Army guy isn't even a real person. He is a sentient programme, occupying a human body, in the same way a soul does. He is NOT programmed to know that he is a programme, nor would he ever admit it. He is programmed to think that he is a person. ALL you will EVER get out of this guy, is the demiurgic narrative. Which goes something like war is necessary, being in the military is honourable, the threats we face are genuine and NOT fabricated and/or orchestrated. Believe it or not. There are MANY sentient programmes, getting around planet Earth, appearing to be as human as the rest of us, and their sole purpose is to perpetuate the demiurgic agenda, which is EXACTLY what LTGen Simon Stuart is doing. The strategy of denial, more likely self delusion..........a larger more lethal navy, an army optimised for littoral operations, a highly capable airforce, strengthened cyber capabilities and integrated space capabilities (buzzword bingo). Here's a thought for the ADF "leaders" how do you achieve "national resilience", "industry resilience" and "supply chain resilience" without bringing the Australian public into the discussion - answer you don't because you're talking to a Canberra echo chamber and as an organisation you're commercially and financially incompetent. Innovation, science and technology - great who, where, why would anyone want to work with you - people that have don't want to do it again, why? Here enjoy this - In a nutshell, the global threat level rests around three intersecting axes (1) RUS (2) PRC and (3) IRN. A strategy for defence is simple Align - Arm - Build - Engage - Enable - Deter and Defeat. ALIGN means ensuring key alliances are upheld and where necessary broadened - this is both a government and ADF responsibility. ARM means acquire the correct means in the correct quantities to meet the threats posed by (1), (2) and (3). BUILD means build the capabilities required and build the means to logistically supply the arms/equipment and their re-supply and manufacture. Again this a ADF and government responsibility. ENGAGE means open and honest engagement with Australian citizens to develop critical support or dissent and ensure key industries are aligned and can contribute in resupply, resources, rebuilding and building of war materiel. This is a tripartite relationship between Government/ADF and the citizens they act for. ENABLE this means ensuring the relationships are made/built and the long term capital plan is in place to ensure the strategy can be developed, it also means enabling the citizenry who are far more capable in innovating, building, defending, maintaining and running critical infrastructure than government/police/ADF. DETER means exactly that ensure, the posture, positioning, facing and equipment are in place to act as a meaningful deterrent. DEFEAT means a willingness at government level to counter threats and defeat them in a proactive manner. Successive Australian Governments and ADF leadership cadres have failed to fully and clearly enunciate the threats (which haven't changed over thirty years or so) and as function of this they have failed to adequately ALIGN - ARM - BUILD and ENGAGE. I can not stress this enough, this is a very significant and profound failure of leadership and government. The ADF has failed as an organisation - thats why it has problems with morale, suicide, veterans, recruitment and retention. All signs of poor leadership over a protracted period. The solutions are relatively easy but centre around culture and leadership change - something the ADF is incapable of.
