can we just be honest, and admit this is all about china?

I cant see this as being anything other than a huge step forward, however the thought of a damaged lithium based battery big enough to be useful for this weight, brewing up, is .... concerning. In the design factors obviously. Torque wins.

@@IC3XR probably yeah ha ha, the way the adf leadership is worried more about community Muslim day,or inclusive agendas or Aboriginal recognition Instead of throwing its weight around politically and making the government understand that 3 battalions is not enough to defend the entire Australian mainland Or does the adf just suffer from RELEVANCE syndrome And wants all the lime light Instead of supporting the creation of a national guard or a draft to fix severe man power shortages Adf leadership was more then happy to persecute the sasr an rar regiments By the way were the hell is our national ICBM ground based radar Oh that's right we dont have one ha ha fool

Having seen lithium fires, I'm not convinced that having a large lithium battery in a mine protected vehicle is a great idea. Then we have time to recharge v refuel, cost, the fact that it will be recharging off a large diesel genset anyway. I don't see a lot of delivered positives.

as someone currently in Ukraine, Where is our FPV and attack drone program, no not the ones that cost $100,000 a pop from a contractor ripping us off, the ones that can be created for $500 piece and fully built, assembled and operated with a few weeks training by every unit out there. Wake up, we need this now, not in 5 years. Our guys are precious, I dont want to see some boomer waste them because they haven't woken up to the future. We have a wealth of smart guys within defence who could make a program happen, IN HOUSE, use the guys you have.
