Nearly 60,000 people have been evacuated from their homes in China, after days of heavy rain caused flooding in the Guangdong province.
At least three people have died, and 11 people are missing, according to state media.
Several major rivers have burst their banks, and authorities are closely monitoring "dangerously high" water levels.
Much of Guangdong is part of the low-lying Pearl River delta, which is prone to floods due to the rise in sea levels and storm surges. It is also one of the country’s most densely-populated regions, with Guangdong alone home to around 127 million people.

The most common type of sewer drain clogging is caused by people dumping trash to the streets that is then taken by rain and clogging everything. This type of behavior is the same as the Chinese.

I lived there for over 15 years. It is easy to see why it floods there. 1) It is a flood plain. Should never have put in so much housing and businesses. 2) By putting in all these buildings, they covered up areas with concrete and asphalt where the water would drain off. So now the water cannot drain. Hence, flooding....

Nothing new! In the nineties we saw this every year from Hong Kong. Also in India, Bangladesh and so on, especialy during monsoon/ rainy season. They know this for thousand years and still keep on building in these places or put stricter building rules forward.

Its the earth ridding itself of the greenhouse effect. More rainfall means more trees & plants sprouting thereby reducing temperatures & levels of carbon emissions at a rate which can never be matched by human beings.

China yields an annual amount of 7.96 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide from coal - a far cry from the second leading country, India, which has an annual amount of 1.80 billion tonnes. So I can say that If China and the rest of the world does not change its ways regarding polluting the world that results in climate change then this will definitely get worse....
