imagine a world where robots do all the hard labor and humans just reap the benefits of their technological development. Then again, the rich doesn't like that because they want most people to be slaves to the 9-5 so their ego can still feel good since it always compares itself to others due to insecurities.

We are already living like this. Most throughut developed countries, we have automated factories and facilities. Software doing automated tasks, we have power tools and machines/trucks to make manual labour tasks much easier. Also with these developments, we also get a richer middleclass which also creates more big consumers, which is also good for the rich investors.
